Re: Gloaming Camp
Fallownose followed closely behind Twilightstar as she led the patrol into Swooping Cliffs, where the outsiders had taken up residence. Anticipation ran through his veins like blood, and he had to make a conscious effort to keep his pelt flat like Twilightstar told the patrol to. The immediate threats and mocking words tossed Twilightstar and WindClan as a whole and made him want to growl, but he held it back. He didn't hold back the scoff and eye roll as the leader of the group claimed he had "misunderstood" his words. Fallownose had understood exactly what was being implied. As Cowpaw moved from his side, the dark gray tom's amber eyes flickered in surprise as he realized who the cat was approaching. "Cowpaw, wait-" he started, but was too late as the medicine cat moved to nuzzle the former WindClan apprentice. What in StarClan's name was Laurelpaw doing here? @Moonraven @x ghostie @birdie |

With a quick glance about, he assessed the situation. Anyone with half a braincell could tell these were braincells. The mainecoon listened briefly to what Twilightstar had to say before it clicked. This was a performance. They were under the impression they - the Syndicate - had good intentions. Adorable. Good impressions were needed. |
Re: Gloaming Camp
Laurelpaw
She had been inclined to stand there for as long as it took to get answers from whoever this stranger was when a familiar scent flooded her nose. Laurelpaw turned, and to her surprise saw Twilightstar - coming up with a few warriors, but most notably Fallownose and Cowpaw. Well, what an interesting development here. Her former leader seemed to spot she was there but said nothing, as did one of the warriors who came up alongside her. Hmm. Interesting, so there was no need to lie through her teeth yet. Or... was Twilightstar not recognizing her because she chose not to? Because this was what they had wanted all along; her out of WindClan? Now that she didn't have to bear the burden of exiling her, getting rid of her like they had done to her mother. She moved so that she now flanked William, standing and glaring at her former Clanmates. Laurelpaw still stood shorter than most of them, despite being a full twelve moons already. Her claws just barely unsheathed as she prepared herself to fend off any cat who dared to call her out. Whatever happened in the next few moments, she would not be going back to WindClan. What kind of home was even left there for her anymore? Then, the last face in WindClan she perhaps still considered... a friend. Mismatched eyes locked onto Cowpaw, and for a brief moment the wall around her started to crumble. Black and white spots, just like her... bi-colored eyes, the familiar goofy grin that Laurelpaw associated with kindness... Stars, she wanted to fall into that kindness. To have it wrap around her and whisper sweet promises of safety and security. To chase away all of the dark thoughts, all of the scars on her heart from every single member of her family abandoning her. ...And just like that, the memories fizzled and in their place a dark fire erupted in her eyes. Every single moment that her so-called Clan had ignored her, pushed aside the disappearance of her mother, allowed a kidnapper to remain deputy. It stung. It dug into her side like a thorn. Laurelpaw was distinctly aware of Fallownose arriving now, calling out for Cowpaw to wait. He really should've. Laurelpaw wished he would just back up, turn around, ignore her like the rest of WindClan had done. Almost like a knee-jerk reaction Laurelpaw let out a low, warning growl. Her ears drew back and quick as a snake, she recoiled away from his touch, eyes narrowed as she stuck closer to the older tom next to her. One paw lifted, and struck towards Cowpaw's face like lightning. She intended for the smack to be hard, but refrained from using her claws (she couldn't. she couldn't). "Do not touch me. Who the hell are you??" The words burned like fire coming up but she ignored their sting and instead bared her fangs towards Cowpaw. This was it. Her chance to really leave behind Laurelpaw. That was... she was no longer that cat. The apprentice who let every little thing hurt her heart before hiding it away behind excessive snark and excuses. The little girl who cried in her nest at night for her family to return, for her Clanmates to notice something was really, really wrong with her and spend the time trying to get through the thorny barriers. No. Laurelpaw, as far as she was concerned, was dead. [ @Moonraven @Starfall @x ghostie @NinjaBloss ] |
Re: Gloaming Camp
Snowypaw Massive paws trudged behind the WindClan leader, for once forgoing the respectful distance he preferred to keep from warriors during patrols. He could do little good for anyone if he trailed behind, especially if the outsiders were spreading as much as his oversensitive nose seemed to indicate they were. The scent still belonged to unfamiliar cats, but there was an undeniable similitude to the scent he had felt when hunting for moles with Stonecrackle. Could it be these cats had been planning to take over from the start? Their asking for the territory a ruse to sneak in? Snowypaw could feel his fur beginning to fluff up as anxiety threatened to take over, taking a deep, calming breath as he continued following. Mismatched ears perked up as the leader's call caught his attention, and the large apprentice breathed and exhaled once more, forcing his feathery coat to lie down. Entering the outsider's camp behind the others, taking their cues from them - terrified of somehow messing up any attempts at diplomacy with his presence - he stood still, paws mildly splayed in a relaxed pose which could turn defensive quickly if need be. A somewhat familiar scent seemed to permeate the air here as Twilightstar spoke to whom he assumed to be the leader of the camp. Following his delicate nose with a turn of his broad head, Snowypaw's blue eyes turned wide as he saw Laurelpaw next to the leading tom. Feathery tail giving a mild twitch of surprise, Snowypaw attempted to school his features as Cowpaw walked forward, gesturing far too quickly for him to make out what was being said from his position and with his admittedly small knowledge of the way the medicine cat communicated. Perhaps he should fix that later... it would be rude to the black and white tom if he didn't even try, and he would hate to accidentally exclude the medicine cat from any -doubtful - potential conversations they might share over his own bumbling lack of knowledge. A frown plagued the gentle giant's features as he saw Fallownose approach the medicine cat, knowing full well this was neither the time nor place for such thoughts. He had to focus! There were more cats approaching, more outsiders talking and filling the air with their unfamiliar scent, more of Laurelpaw's kidnappers - for this was the only reason Snowypaw could think of why a fellow WindClan apprentice would be here - and more of the almost certain enemies who had threatened their deputy around them, making it clear they were outnumbered, and he had already missed parts of the conversation due to his lack of focus. Snowypaw felt severely out of place and lacking, suddenly wondering if he should have even volunteered, if he would be able to help protect his clanmates when - despite his training - he could potentially be so outmatched. His mind once more in peril of being overtaken by these useless thoughts. These thoughts which threatened to do little more than distract him, make him even more useless in this precarious situation. And then it happened. The strike. A bolt of rage crossed through Snowypaw for a moment, gone in the blink of an eye. Laurelpaw, his clanmate, his denmate - true, he knew little of her, but she had never seemed the type to want to be approached by someone like him - had struck Cowpaw. A cat so gentle and benevolent, a cat who had been so obviously delighted to see her safe he had approached her, regardless of the danger to him. Struck across the face in a moment of affection by a clanmate. Snowypaw's features went blank, lacking emotions as he focused on a singular thing, his feathery tail giving a slow lash. His orders. He must focus on his orders and not attack. Surely Laurelpaw must have her reasons for such a despicable act, no matter how irredeemable said act seemed. |

Lesly glared at Spirit as he spoke. WHAT THE HELL IS HE TALKING ABOUT!? But then... then an evil smile crossed her face. She understood. They were family. The brown she-cat sat down and dipped her head. "Oh of course brother! How could i be that stupid!" She said with a slight hiss. "No private talks are needed." Lesly meowed in a kind voice, though she bared her teeth at Spirit. |
Re: Gloaming Camp
Night Watcher watched the arriving Wind Clan cats -couldn't they leave us alone?- he was fed up, but also curious, why does Twilightstar and the head of the Wind Clan came here, maybe to drive them off the cliffs? He was not sure, he moved toward a dark place and hid there, his black and white fur blending there perfectly, so, he listened the verbal game of the two leaders...

Crowfoot's gaze was watching the outsiders, on high alert but not attacking unless it was needed. Their large body of pure black fur was calm but their eyes were a deadly calm as their tail flicked back and forth. Eyes flicking over the outsiders that were in the camp. He was reading to jump in and protect those in the patrol if these outsiders tried anything, seeing as a lot of them seemed that they wanted to fight the WindClan patrol.
