"Yeah, it took forever, but it ran out of energy after a bit." Smallmoss chuckled at her apprentices ecstatic face as she placed it in the fresh-kill pile. Smallmoss knew it was small to other cats, but to them it was huge and a great catch for feeding the Clan.

Sunpaw nodded eagerly, a grin stretched across her face. "Yep!" She agreed. At the news of the mouse den Sunpaw let out a squeak of delight. "Yes!" She shouted, feeling energized.

Magma looked back, the twoleg fence long behind him. He was glad to be free for just one day. His twolegs were nice, but it felt good to just get out and explore.

Sunpaw had a grin on her face as Smallmoss chuckled. "Go along, I can take this to the fresh-kill pile. You've earned a bit of free time." She told her apprentice, who gave a little squeak of thanks before walking off, after dipping her head respectfully to Littlewhisker.

Firefang had trotted out of camp again to make sure of the location of the nest, moving far out into the territory. As a cool breeze moved the leaves and branches around her, she jumped out of the way of a falling leaf. She glared at the offending leaf and swiped at it with a huff, then looked around and scented the air. She stiffened as a whiff of an unfamiliar scent reached her. An intruder! She moved silently in the direction of the scent, letting out a low growl.
The deputy nodded to the apprentice ans suddenly yawned, shaking her head as if to clear it. "I don't know why I'm suddenly sleepy," she remarked to herself, shaking her head again.

Magma continued to walk but he was also more vigilant. He had heard rumors that there were cats here that could eat cats like him as a snack. But that didn't stop him from exploring.

Firefang paused and stared at the ground in confusion. Here was a pawprint of a cat. But the depression in the ground was many times larger than her own paw. The crack of a twig jerked her attention from the pawprint and she ran along the wide path made by what could only be a giant. The scent of water alerted her to the stream, and the growing scent of the intruder told her that she was getting closer.

Thinking the intruder had leapt across the stream, Firefang moved slowly across a fallen branch that lay across the flowing water. She was about halfway across when the branch cracked and she fell, letting out a squeak of fear. She clung to the broken piece of wood as it lodged in the middle of the stream and let out a mewl, hating how much she sounded like a kit but a bit too worried about the water swirling around her paws to care very much.

He heard the mewl. A kit is in trouble. He thought and ran to the sound. Looking aroundhe found the very small cat and jumped on the branch. "I got you." He grabbed her by her scruff and ran off the branch, putting her down. "I swear parents these days letting their kits run off."

Having gone completely still when the giant grasped her scruff and set her down, she stared in awe at the enormous cat. Then she blinked. "Kit??" she demanded with a snarl. "How dare you call me a kit you beetlebrained piece of rabbit dung!"

He tilted his head. "What?" He shook his head. "Never mind. Where are your parents?"

"My mother died of a cough and my father was trampled by a rabbit." She lashed her tail. "And you would do well to get off Burrclan Territory."

"A rabbit.....never mind." He said. "And if your parents are gone, I can take you to a few of my friends. They just kitted and they would probably be happy to take you in as one of their kits."

"Again with the kit-- my littermates have kits of their own. I am a full-fledged warrior of Burrclan, whose territory you are trespassing on. And what's your story then? Grew too large for your nest and abandoned? "

Isn't this just cute. He thought. "Too large?" He asked. "I was actually one of the smallest of my litter." He told her.

"And I was one of the largest." She sighed and sat down, putting a paw to her forehead. "Look. What will I have to do to make you realize that I'm not a kit?"
