Re: Glenclan Chronicles 2
(Private RP)
Starry eyes open in the middle of the night, a hesitant gasp escapes her maw. She buries her face in her paws, hoping no one hears her over the soft coos of sleeping cats. Slowly, she picks herself up and pads towards the moonlight. Barely outside of the den, shadows dance in the wind of the barren, stony clearing. There, she could see her goal, the prisoner's den far across from the warrior's den. The coast clear, she dashes out as quickly and quietly as she could, those cats in there had to know, she needed to tell them... something... wait... She slows to a halt in the middle of the clearing. Confused, she looks down at her small calico paws, almost not recognizing herself. What am I doing? Am I... dreaming? "I thought I heard someone," A big black cat with white ears and glowing green eyes stalks from the clearing's edge, staring her down and mews with a smooth tone, "What are you doing out so late, Spottedpaw?" Spottedpaw?" Is that... my name? Half of her ponders this thought, but the other half can't ignore her body trembling in horror at the approaching tom. She chooses not to answer and backs away, but the tom increases his pace, making her scramble back and fall to her side. He gets closer and bares his fangs, then, a growl from behind halts his progress, "Crowspot!" Looking back it looked like she emerged from the nursery, "Your supposed to guard the clan, not give our apprentices nightmares!" Crowspot fixes his eyes on the loud, cream colored tabby. "Clifftail, what a pleasant surprise." His voice is suddenly so casual, almost prideful even. "Don't be ridiculous, I just thought it was that rat from the prisoner's den." Clifftail pads in a protective position in front of Spottedpaw and gets right in Crowspot's face hissing, "They look nothing alike. And if you so much as touch my son, I'll rip you apart." Spottedpaw keeps low in fear, tension between the two warriors grew so quickly and she still can't figure out why she even left her nest. Crowspot doesn't even seem bothered, "And you know Foxstar. If you touch me, you'll share their fate." He flips his tail to the prisoner's den. "Exile." Clifftail backs away in disbelief, still over Spottedpaw. "No... She can't do that." "She's already decided. Your about to become very lonely in the coming moons, have you perhaps, considered another mate?" Crowspot sounded rather pleased with himself. Anger and disgust had completely taken Clifftail over, even Spottedpaw could feel it. As contained as she could, she looked to the unknowing apprentice below her and quietly mewed, "Go... Go back to sleep." Taking that as her chance to relieve herself of their conflict, she runs back into the apprentice's den and curls up as tightly as she could in her nest. Her eyes... soft, caring... about to break. I... I remember those eyes. Suddenly, a fierce yowl fills her ears, and quickly following were mews and spits of a desperate struggle. By the time anyone made it to the clearing to see what was going on, they had taken the fight out into the territory where they could still be somewhat heard in the distance. But knowing Crowspot's scent is involved, no one goes to help or investigate, simply return to their nests. Spottedpaw feels completely spent, being afraid for her life even if it wasn't directed at her. Falling asleep, it became easy to accept what she saw, as if it was normal, and the blanks in her memory filled in. I'm Spottedpaw, an apprentice of Glenclan. Clifftail and Fleetstar, but Foxstar... and then Crowspot... Why, did I go out there? ...Mothpaw? |
Re: Glenclan Chronicles 2
Morning came too quickly, the light still reaching his awareness through closed eyes. It would be a miracle to open up and stretch, lying upon his own nest alongside his mentor and nothing from the last two moons had actually happened. Too much of a miracle even to risk waking up now, but his stomach grumbling, Mothpaw awakes on his mentor's back, inside the prisoner's den with two others, mates that happened to be dragged into the leader's madness. He shift's himself, sliding down his mentor, Hawkface's side. That's right... something woke everyone up last night, and Foxstar came around to make sure we didn't leave.
Mothpaw looks over to the mates, the queen, Softail is still sleeping. Would be a shame if her kits were to be born here... And the upstanding tom, Stormbreeze, his uncle. Looks like he didn't get to sleep at all... |
Re: Glenclan Chronicles 2
Feeling the shift, Hawkface rolled onto his side an then opened his eyes. He huffed and pulled himself to his paws afterward and used his paw to pull Mothpaw close. He groomed his aporentice, who felt more like a son to him these days. He had promised the 'paws father who had been an old and dear friend, that he would care for Mothpaw, and he had every intention too.
Softtail shifted uncomfortably, her swollen belly making it a bit hard to sleep. She hated that they were here, and not even given nests. You'd think decent cats like she thought her clan was would at least treat a soon-to-be-mother with a little more care. |

Foxstar sticks her head into the steep den and yowls down to them, "Its time, get up and get out! Try anything else against me and youll be killed on the spot!" Mothpaw shivered at her voice and buried his face in Hawkface's paw. Stormbreeze looked away to tend to his mate before Foxstar sends one of her followers in and hurts her. Actually, he couldnt stand to see the young apprentice cry, after all, they both witnessed how Foxstar killed his brother, Fleetstar, Mothpaw's father. He tenderly licks Softtail's cheeck, too tried and tired to change the frustrated look on his face, and sadness in his eyes. "We'd best get moving." he whispers. Spottedpaw awakens, confused and disoriented. She stumbles around the apprentice's den, feeling like she had forgotten something important before finding her bearings. She leaves the den to find nearly the entire clan crowded around the prisoner's den, and a fair scent of blood from the ground. Still feeling very much brain fogged, she pushes herself into the crowd to see whats going on. "Come on, we dont have all morning, and id rather not drag you out myself." Foxstar seems more impatient than usual. Mothpaw, managing to contain himself, whispers to Hawkface, "I still dont understand. What did we do wrong?" |

Hawkface shook his head as he licked Mothpaw's ear. "We did nothing. But you are still my apprentice, and if exile is our fate we are all these two have to help them. Check Softtail's condition, tell me what you find." |

Stormbreeze stifle's his purr. He still cant believe that Softtail has been by his side for this long, and to have their own kits. He looks to Hawkface with a lightened expression. Even under such dire circumstances, he encourages Mothpaw and manages to help him feel like he's doing something right, as if he really is part of the family. "You two help Softtail out. Ill make sure Foxpelt doesnt try anything to hurt you." With that, he pads partway out of the den, then slowly out into the clearing in a defensive stance. The scent of blood and absence of her mate, Crowspot, put him on edge, so Stormbreeze hisses. The clan heeds his warning and backs away a few pawsteps, and Foxstar unsheaths her claws, but he does not yeild. "Hmph, I dont know what Blacksong saw in a traitor like you. I hate seeing his gift wasted on such an imbecile." Foxstar teased, but Stormbreeze denied her challenge and stood firm and quiet.Softtail cant know these things, just stop blabbering and send us off already! |

Foxstar pouts and turns away to address the clan. "Says the one supposedly guided by our ancestors. He along with his apprentice and these two have conspired to kill me with the help of outside loners." "B-But, we were only g-gathering herbs." Mothpaw lightly stutters, retreating back to Hawkface. Yet a wave of calm washes over him, he could tell his mentor is receiving something. Stormbreeze wanted to take Foxstar down, here and now. It wouldn't be easy, but he knew he could win. Not even those loyal to her jumping in would stand a chance if she were to be taken care of quickly, especially with Crowspot missing. His eyes sharpen, claws dig into the stony soil, but the only thing curbing his edge to battle was that Softtail will no doubt get hurt in the scramble. You are no longer simply a cat, Storm. You cannot live a normal life, not that you would be rejected. You will choose for yourself, to reject what you call home. Blacksong's mews echo back to him, and he knows that Glenclan is only home to him because Softtail is in it. "Gathering herbs, cute likely story." Foxstar mocks Mothpaw. |

Foxstar spits, "Starclan, ancestors, I tire of your rubbish." She steps back from Hawkface, "We have always followed our own path, no clan of dead cats is going to dictate how we live and whether or not we survive!" She mews, fully aware of what she's saying, but her eyes faulter and Stormbreeze catches on. "Haven't you heard? You should always listen to the medicine cat." Strombreeze growls, "Your right to be afraid, Blacksong would be disappointed that you've become so emotional." Foxstar hisses at Stormbreeze. She had nearly lost her temper and attacked, but a strong voice turned everyone's head. "Enough!" Crowspot pushes his way through the crowd and to Foxstar's side, "Enough about Starclan and enough about Blacksong. We are Glenclan, and they are the past." Only a little smaller than Hawkface, Crowspot looks right into his eyes like he's no big threat, "And the past is dead." Mothpaw pads towards Stormbreze, only enough to observe Crowspot's injuries. Blood caked his fur on his right hindleg and side, his left ear even more torn away than it was before. And light colored fur covered his body in small patches against his pitch black hue. Foxstar takes a breath to contain herself and began grooming her mate's shoulder, "It's about time you came back." |

Crowspot, though, seems unbothered, and Foxstar is looking more and more irritated. "I think its about time we see you off." Crowspot mews, "A threat to Foxstar is a threat to the clan. You are no longer welcome in our territory, but worry not." "I've already decided where you will make your new home." Foxstar waves her tail, "You've plotted to take my life, so ive thought it reasonable to give you the same hospitality. The snowy expanse sounds like a nice place." That pleasured look in her eyes made Stormbreeze growl in defiance. "Where stars endlessly fall from the sky... You think a little frost is going to end us?!" He takes a pawstep back, brushing his tail against Softtail's side with worry. |

...No one comes forward. As if in a trance, Spottedpaw takes a kittenstep towards the group, but she snaps out of it when Mothpaw suddenly yowls out, "Mom! Mom, where are you?!" It suddendly occurs to Stormbreeze that there would be no way Mothpaw's mother would stand for this, much less leave him to die. He scans the crowd, expecting her to be pushing her way through to them by now. "Clifftail?" he calls out and ends up catching Crowspot's attention. "Feh!" Crowspot spits, then addresses the clan, "Keep them surrounded, we follow the river all the way to it's source." He stands and stares down Mothpaw with a hiss, "She's made her decision. Now move!" Mothpaw silences himself. He didnt want to believe it, but it really was him and Clifftail fighting last night. He didnt want to think about what he couldve meant. If anything, he was proud of the damage she dealt to Crowspot, though suprised he wasnt limping from how bad his hindleg looked. Some of the cats stay behind, which means the rest surrounding and forcing them along truly has thier devotion misplaced. Stormbreeze still seeks the opportunity to escape, but though he doesnt hold that much faith with Hawkface's mews, he finds it best to just go quietly as he said. |

Many were in awe of this cursed plateau, but only because they knew they weren't staying any longer. "Here is where we part ways." Foxstar mews, clearly bothered by this harsh environment. "Anything you want to say to me, dear Stormbreeze? You've been quiet the whole way." Stormbreeze ignores her, putting all of his focus on tending to Softtail. If anything he hoped she's jealous at least, but rubbing it in might mean a scolding from Hawkface, and this just isn't the time or place for bickering. "If you return, we will kill you outright." Blackcrow mews, looking particularly at Hawkface. "You'd best get moving." |

Mothpaw, trialing right behind Hawkface, speaks up. "Can't we go back anyway? There's gotta be somewhere we can hide." "You don't understand." Stormbreeze shakes his head, "Trust me, Crowspot will find us. There's nowhere to go from this place but up." Mothpaw stammers to a halt and sneezes. "Bleck... Hawkface, are we... really going to be alright?" It's rare to find Mothpaw without a sense of direction, especially with his mentor by his side. |

Strombreeze guides Softtail in first, using his long, thick fur to block the wind from pushing her in. "Are you alright?" he mews, gently grooming snow from behind her ears. The snow in here is only as high as their paws, much easier to move around, but there isnt much room. Stormbreeze's ears touch the soily ceiling, and even though light is coming in more than the snow is, it doesnt feel any warmer. "So, what now?" Mothpaw looks outside, then to his mentor, feeling that Hawkface has to have all of the answers. |

"W-Wait," Mothpaw bats Stormbreeze's hindleg, "You can't go alone! Help me with the den, then I can come with you." "No, Mothpaw," Stormbreeze mews sternly, "I can take care of myself, but I can't take care of you too. I need you to watch Softtail and your elder over there." He gestures to Hawkface. "Listen to Starclan, it's what you all do best." |

"Right." Stormbreeze mews, taking a deep breath before treading his way through the snow.
Mothpaw's ears drop, "There he goes..." He licks his paws and continues clawing away the snow. "Will he really be alright alone? Hes going to come back this time?" ~ Stormbreeze soon happens upon the opportunity to find... something? He reaches a custer of trees and starts sniffing around for anything useful. "Why am I even trying?" He mews to himself, convinced that nothing could survive in such dire straits. "Its already taken miracles to survive this long, itll take many more to get us out. Just how dire is Starclan to keep a dead clan going?" But as he sifted through the snow, his nose did catch a scent! One that alarmed him, but before he could react, it poked its head from under the snow. A young, white fox with reddish blue eyes flipped its ears in his direction and yipped at him. |

~ Stormbreeze took a defensive stance, slowly backing away with a hiss. The fox tilted his head at him and dived back beneath the snow. Not trusting the situation, Stormbreeze keeps his eyes on the hole in the snow and backtracks, but then the fox returns, holding someone by the scruff. His eyes widened in disbelief, it's Spottedpaw, hanging unconscious from the fox's maw. "What did you do to her!" Stormbreeze growled and hissed. The fox lowered his head, ears folding back at Stormbreeze's harsh mewls. It came a little close, sniffing at him, then mewled softly, "Come." Suprised, Stormbreeze watched the cat-speaking fox dash passed him. "H-Hey! Get back here with Spottedpaw!" |
