"Not a fan of the nickname, Dante," Belle growled, trying not to break her concentration, as she plowed through a level she'd been working on for quite some time. "But if I'm honest, I'd love to see you try to get her out of here-- for the day. That would certainly earn some respect. At least from me," she mumbled the last part, zoning back into the game again.

Belle was caught a little off-guard at the mention of Tari-- that is, the "freakazoid" as Dante had so generously put it. "I'm not blind, Dante. She isn't going anywhere. As for flame-head--" She glimpsed her own hair in the blackened loading screen, then shrugged it off, knowing he likely wasn't talking about her. If she was honest, she couldn't tell who it was-- it could be Evelyn, or Lucks, or heck-- maybe even that little green-haired, coconut-tossing kid Theo. "Keep them off my back, and I'll do the same for you."

"No! Gaaaah!" Belle shrieked in disappointment as her in-game avatar lost its final life. She stood up from her chair and dug her fingernails-- metal and flesh variants-- into her scalp, then began pacing the room furiously. She muttered a few offensive words under her breath and resisted the urge to throw something.

To think that even lowly YouTubers got more views and popularity because they flipped their chairs in anger... it just made Belle feel worse.

"Could be worse, I suppose. I could be playing with only one hand," Belle sighed, not turning to look at the blue-haired Meta Runner. She sat back down in her chair with a huff. "Do you need something? Kind of busy right now, in case you haven't noticed."
