"Erm..." Wolfhive honestly didn't know what that meant. Go back? Keep going? "I'll take that as a you'd like to head back?" Assuming that to be the case-- unless otherwise indicated-- he moved to grab the chipmunk. "Grab your mouse and let's get goin' then."

(I'm being a lil lazy :P )

WispPaw nodded and dug up the mouse.

Crowpaw
Purrks: Heightened Perception and Agatha Kitty
@taillow

Hunting sounded a lot easier than Crowpaw had imagined. But like everything in life, he had to perfect the skill through practice. Many warriors in the Clans were excellent hunters. They had to be to survive, after all. With Redstalk's approval, Crowpaw finally began to feel like he was doing something right in his training. Although his mentor did mention squirrels and mice in specifics, the young tom felt like stalking was something he needed to focus on with every animal the Clan hunted.

As she went on to describe the hunter's crouch, Crowpaw's stomach began to twist. He wasn't sick, thankfully, but he was concerned. Concerned about being able to stalk the prey correctly, what with his half-blind eye and all. He couldn't exactly see perfectly out of it. But so long as he kept his tail straight out behind him and kept his weight in his hind legs, he should be fine. Right?

Crowpaw tried his best to copy the she-cat's demonstration, though he didn't know if it was correct. It all felt... stiff, if that was the right word to describe how he looked. His hind legs were not used to all that weight being put on them, so the way his toe beans pressed into the dirt below felt just as weird as he probably looked. Are my feet even in the right position? He stared at Redhawk, who had already pointed out a squirrel at the base of a tree. But before he tried his luck at actual hunting, he wanted to double check his positioning and make sure he'd actually manage stalking. "Am I doing this right?"

She copied the move pretty well, and he was confident in time she'd master the concept without issue. As long as she kept working on being quick on her paws, she'd be excellent at strategic manuevers. "I don't envy the cats that face you in the future, you're gonna show them you're not to be messed with!"

He didn't miss her being out of breath, though. "Do you wanna break or keep going? I don't wanna overwork you, especially on your first round." He could kidnap her again for some exercises - he doubt Bumba would mind.

“No it's ok, I’ll wait for you to kiss my paws.”

Lightningpaw purred when she was compliment and allowed it to go straight to her head. She was going to be the greatest fighter for there to have ever been and she would be able to thank Wolfhive. "They will be wondering why our clan isn't called Lightningclan given how fast I move!" She cheered.

She took a few good breaths before she shook her head. "No I think I could do one more technique before tapping out." Lightningpaw said. She was getting tired but she wanted to shove it to all the other apprentices by showing how good of a fighter she was. Though in her mind she was already so much better than all the others but where was the sin of being even better?

REDHAWK
she/they | thunderclan hornet | 32 moons

Taking her eyes off the squirrel and back onto Crowpaw, Redhawk moved around him to check his positioning. "Here, try this," she took a paw and aimed to nudge his back legs a bit more apart. "If you can, t-try to get lower to the ground, and maybe move forward a paw step or t-two to see how best to distribute your weight." Outside of that it would just take some practice. "If you continue to move, it'll help with t-the crouch not feeling as sss-stiff."

Sliding into the crouch again, Red demonstrated how she got lower to the ground and kept her legs enough apart so that they weren't smushed together, allowing her to move a bit more freely. Her tail remained straight out behind her until she turned and stood once more, nodding for Crowpaw to try it this time. Her eyes glanced at the squirrel that was over in the other small clearing patch, taking note how it seemed to now be preoccupied with digging a hole.

This was all a lot to remember. He doubted he would, but who knows... maybe his memory would surprise him. He took a mental note of where Redhawk placed his legs and suggested he move forward a step or two to see how to best distribute his weight. Yeah I'm not going to remember this later. But that's a problem for future me. He shrugged off the concern and did as suggested, stalking as quietly as he could.

Now... it was time to put this practice into his hunt. He shook out his pelt as carefully as he could to not disturb the blades of grass and then let out a deep breath that he had began holding in. One paw in front of the other, he began the... second(?) step of hunting: stalking. All that was left to do was... DAMN IT! He had accidentally stepped on a twig that had blended into the dirt on the forest floor. Y'know it's times like these I hate my horrid eyesight!

He let out a snarl and chased after the squirrel, determined to catch it and drop it at his mentor's feet. After quickly analyzing the tree, Crowpaw put his toe beans into close by paw holds and leapt up the tree with ease, catching up to the squirrel quickly. He didn't even bother trying to intimidate the little squirrel, which... was apparently not so little. That's a plump one... it'll feed a couple of warriors probably.

With a satisfied laugh, the young tom jumped and snatched the little mammal out of the branch it was sitting on and right on to another tree branch. It won't support my weight for long, I'll have to get down now. The young tom huffed and began his decent, then dropping the dead squirrel at Redhawk's paws. "There, I caught it. The little tree dweller didn't stand a chance."

Lightlark
AFAB - She / Her
ThunderClan Warrior

Lightlark padded along the streambank gracefully, her amber eyes narrowing slightly. The ThunderClanner opened her jaws slightly to taste the air, quickly pinpointing a squirrel and crouching down to stalk her quarry. The warrior made sure to keep her pawsteps light and airy before leaping, landing square on her prey and nipping its neck, causing the squirrel to go limp in between her jaws. Lightlark stood up, the squirrel between her teeth.

Lightlark buried her squirrel alongside her earlier caught quail before darting through the bushes, later returning with a plump rabbit, her tail quivering in satisfaction. ´´Thank you, StarClan, for this prey,´´ The warrior breathed after setting down her rabbit.

Dreamspirit tensed up and looked up at the sharp rustling noises, obviously another warrior hunting. Relaxing her tensed shoulders, she padded silently over to where she'd heard the noise.
She had been right, and had arrived just in time to see the cat swiftly and skillfully catch a squirrel, then a rabbit. Not wanting to startle the warrior, she gave a small rustle of nearby bushes as a "warning" before stepping forward.

"That was some great catches you got there, love!" She purred, turning and smiling to the prey, and looking back at the she-cat.
