spooky scary skeletons [p]

Elkpaw had a lot of strange dreams. Fighting off massive angry snakes and being ThunderClan's one and only hero? Pretty standard. Becoming the totally epic once-and-for-all leader of every single Clan? The norm for sure. Waking up in a dark spooky forest that he could absolutely take over and bend to his will? New, but not unconquerable.

Nose twitching, Elkpaw turned in place, peering up at dead twisting trees and shoving his nose against the ground until he made a full 360 and, lo and behold, came to a halt with another cat in front of him.

He blinked once. Then beamed, and bounced forward, crowing, "HI! I'm Elkpaw! What's your name?"

SHADEFROST

SHADOCLAN'S STRONGEST STILL

X SHADOWCLAN GAURD

AGATHA KITTY | ACTIVE, BEEFED UP (T3) | ACTIVE, MIND READER | ACTIVE, SILVER TOUNGUE | ACTIVE

So... This was the place he was supposed to spend the rest of eternity in?

What a disgusting filth!

Black glossy paws stomped heavily through the dark forest, their unsheathed claws tearing at the mossy earth with each step while sapphire hues scanned the surrounding area. As far as Shade was concerned, it had only been a few hours since his, "temporary" departure from life. An affair he was still finding hard to fully come to terms with. There was a good chance that it could have been a little longer, but, through and through, there was no genuine way to tell with the constant lack of sunlight.

And the fact that he had no clue as to where he might've been, made this ordeal all the worse. Had some century-old apparition of wisdom and benevolence appeared after he'd died to explain.... This, the tom would have probably been in a better mood than he was. At least he'd have known what he was supposed to do. But this felt as if some cat had stuck leaves to his eyes, spun him around in a circle, and told him to find his way home using only sound and smell. It wasn't just a major pain, but it was an outright inconvenience. It was as if nothing could ever go his way, and in the rare case where luck actually favored him, some unknown force of nature sought to punish him for it. It was truly an annoying situation.

The tom sighed, as fatigue attempted to settle in his muscles. He had to stop sometime soon, even if it was only for a little while. A few fox lengths ahead, there was a rise in the earth. Nothing too steep, but Shade was sure it would sap the little energy he had left. He didn't stop, however. Better for the warrior to clear the hurdle now and put it behind him than to wake in the morning... or long night? And have yet to do it. Besides, he could rest once he was on the other side of the hill.

Or at least, that's what he had planned. A moment before he began his assent a slight movement out of the corner of his observant eye caught his attention. Blue sphere's turned. Then blinked in surprise at the sight of a round furry shape. I... Is that a cat? It looked small. Likely the age of an apprentice, if only in resemblance. It's sides rose and fell steadily with each passing breath, and for a moment a wave of relief washed over Shade. It was immediately replaced with unbridled hatred.

Just his luck, the only thing in this star's forsaken forest that seemed as if it could help him out, and it had a Thunderclan scent. Could this day get any worse? Suddenly the small round shape began to stir on the forest floor, followed by a small swiveling head that popped up to scan the area. Shadefrost was unsure of what the furball would think if he saw a large, dark figure standing ominously behind him, so he was very much prepared for shrieks of fear and sorrow. But as the bright golden gaze landed on him, he knew fear wasn't the problem he had to deal with. And here he thought he'd already been through the worst of it. Well, a jolly apprentice wasn't actually the worst he'd gone through. So perhaps he could make it through this.
"Didn't your mother teach you not to give your name to absolute strangers? You should really work on that, for all you know you could be talking to a murderer." Shadefrost made sure not to give any sign or hint that he, indeed, was said murderer. The last thing he needed was for a ghost with moral's to deem him dangerous and not help him.
