'Til The End (Open!)

Breezy wandered the sparsely wooded area, short grey and creme fur not doing much to protect her from the slightly colder temperatures. She opened her mouth, inhaling. So far today, she hadn't smelled much prey. Maybe it was just her, or perhaps everything was still quiet after the Leaf-Bare.

Either way, the she-cat was still hungry. A plump vole, or maybe a nice sized squirrel sounded amazing right about now. That and a sunbath. Warm her up some, keep her from feeling so chilly. Her green eyes peered through the bush that was just up ahead, her ears picking up small squeaks. The small cat grinned, padding ahead to peer inside the bush. Small baby rabbits sat inside, partially covered by the nest their momma made them.

Breeze picked up a baby rabbit, trotting off with it to enjoy her meal. Sure, it was a cute baby bunny, but hungry times called for cruel measures.

Deep-set blue eyes blinked once. The grey and brown lump of fur they belonged to was nestled deep in the branches of a pine tree, his scent all but masked in the heavy fumes. As a sound caught ahold of his keen hearing, the tom cat angled himself so he could see below where the sound was coming from. A she-cat was below one of the few trees in the area and he watched her with a guarded gaze. A sort of puzzlement came over him as he watched her poke inside the bush. What interest would rabbits have for her? Surely the other wasn't planning on making a meal of the creatures! The male, unable to interrupt and hardly wanting to make himself known quite at this moment, tucked down into the needles and trained his gaze on the ground far below him and waited to see her thoughts play into actions. However, not more than a minute had passed before he watched her reach down and take out a baby rabbit. Its sharp squeaks echoed in his ears and the tom widened his eyes. She was going to eat it! Quite appalled, the male swished his tail amidst the needles in the tree, causing them to rustle and shake. Oops... Quickly stilling himself, the tom cat gulped; hopefully the squeaking of the rabbit would cover up the sound of his mistake.
