Ebonypaw awoke with a jolt, his fur fluffing out as the cold atmosphere sent shivers down his spine. It was dark here, and all his senses were clouded with trees. He backed away cautiously, unsure of where he was. He felt a jolt in his stomach as the scent of a cat appeared, but quickly faded. Where was he?

He squinted to try and see as he continued to back away, his black pelt disguising him.

Ebonypaw listened to the Dark Forest cat go on. The Dark Forest... Cats who broke the code... This wasn't a good place, or at least it seemed that way. However, the mention of training and this cat being his mentor caught the young tom's interest. He needed to be the best, and this was the perfect opportunity. "One issue," he began, a bit embarrassed. "My mentor didn't really teach me anything..." However, wanting to show his new mentor that he could do something, he got into a very sloppy battle stance, mimicking what he had seen the older apprentices do. "Is this good?"
