Pebblestar looked up towards the chocolate tom, his eyes softening towards his deputy. Harekick started out really young when Pebblestar chose him. He could even feel a sense of doubt from his surrounding clanmates when Harekick was chosen. But the tom quelled those thoughts and worked hard. Pebblestar sensed his eyes looking around his den. Perhaps he liked it? Or was he just thinking of new creative ideas? He stared at the tom before hearing words come out of his maw. He stood to his paws delicately. Nodding as he looked over at the entrance. Listening attentively to the tom. "Then we should gather some mud to cover the holes. And ask Bramblebreeze if they know herb locations to gather moss. I can help with most of it." Even if his bones were old, he didn’t wish to seem like a dormouse lazing about all day. Even he wanted to stretch out his legs. |
Harekick sensed a bit of feistiness from his leader, narrowing his eyes in an amusing manner flicking his tail. Agreeing nodding his head.
"Right, I might ask some warriors to help us with the chores." He almost lost his breath when the leader wanted to be included.
Shouldn't he stay huddled in his nest idly watching the days pass? He twitched his nose like a squirrels turning around towards the entrance. His shoulders were haunched down with wariness. Overthinking with his thoughts going rampant.
Why would Pebblestar want to accompany them on such apprentice tasks? Is he doing it for his image? Or perhaps just a kind heart? He gave in, his breath was hoarse heaving a sigh.
He shouldn't stop Pebblestar at all, with the rumors of how treacherous it is to even gain your lives as a leader. The whole clan should be glad Pebblestar even managed to survive and come back to camp in peace. Or else the deputy would have to be scurrying in a corner to try not to head out to the Clouded Rift Peak. Even he with a mighty heart could only shiver at the thought of being away from camp for a 4 week moonrise. He would ask questions laters, clan duties came first. "I'll ask Berrynose first if she could accompany us. Musing Lake might be the best option for mud." He drooped his tail, exiting the leaders den towards the clearing that was illuminated with the crystalline icy ceiling. Small bits of shard-like sunlight hit his chocolate fur.
Clearing
In the clearing, he spotted the calico she-cat loafing silently. With her iconic red nose another clans medicine cat might mistake her for having a cold. Gleefully making his way over towards the she-cat. He mewed, his voice bellowing lowly.
"Greetings Berrynose. If it wouldn't be a hassle could you accompany me and Pebblestar to fetch some mud for the camp walls?" Wait no. Why is he asking her if she could? He's the deputy isn't he? Shouldn't he be commanding instead? He wanted to slam himself into the dirt walls of the camp.
Even if he gave himself a pep talk would it work? Definitely not. Waiting for a response as his body motions were vivid but slow. His eyes warm but violent staring at the she-cats amber eyes.
