He'd been preparing himself for a real uncomfortable trip back to camp, so Deadmoon's suggestion had relief washing over him. At least he'd be able to learn something with someone else here. "My current mentor," he started, annoyance grating his tone, "hasn't done anything with me. I did a bit of hunting with my first one, though."

Though he was more interested in fighting, he wasn't about to turn down an invitation to actually do something out of camp. "I could use some practice." He'd hunted successfully a few times, but he wasn't real confident in his abilities (much as he liked to pretend he was). It was about time he got some formal training on it!
