It was yet another difficult but inevitable end. She wasn’t sure there was much Featherfoot could have done beyond the situation she’d left herself in but it pained Daisypool to watch the applicants turn away with no clear idea on where they stood, if they’d learned anything, or how they were taking it all. Nonetheless, they could not wait all eternity.
