Ottersplash continued staring at the cat in front of her, her eyes still narrowed. She didn't really know how to respond to this, but eventually she responded. "T- this is my territory . . am I not allowed to be here or something?" she growled softly. She winced at high pitched sound, and narrowed her eyes further. "What are you- a kittypet or something?"

"'dont see a cat speaking to themselves all alone every day" he shrugged with a wide smile, head cocked to the side in a kind of mock-playfulness. he took a few more steps forward, closing the gap between them to a regular talking distance. the she cats obvious insecurity made it rather easy to fall into this kind of position, push her towards where he wanted her, where he got the high ground.
"a what?" the black tom queried, slight smile remaining despite his apparent lack of knowledge.
