perhaps it was weird to be running in the middle of leaf fall with a cat you didnt know too well, but to be honest, he had never felt happier.
The dark tom continued running, the wind blowing through his fur. Even in the colder moons his pelt kept him warm, and although the weather was cold, Obsidiansky felt quite happy to be running out here. The company was great, and he wondered why Larkfall had been so worried in the clearing. But that worry quickly left his mind as his muscles strained to keep ahead of the other tom. "Catch me if you can!" He called back, his speed slowing just the slightest bit before he pulled it back up, continuing to run as fast as he could. At that moment, Obsidiansky was on top of the world - invincible - happy. No, scratch that - he was thrilled.

Like, really wrong?`` The fact that Obsidiansky hadn't approved of her idea of the brother disapproving of their relationship convinced her that the brother had been unhappy about something else. Perhaps he was upset with his sister's lies? But Obsidiansky said he was unhappy with us, so that meant both the she-cat and Obsidiansky. Clearly, the two must've done something wrong - or, at least, the she-cat did something wrong and Obsidiansky went along with it. That didn't surprise Fawnskip as she had guessed Obsidiansky was a follower.

``She was the leader in this... this bad thing that happened. You loved her, you'd do anything for her, so you either helped her or stayed quiet about it - or both. But what did she do?`` Fawnskip eyed Obsidiansky hopefully, as if he'd tell her just what this she-cat did to break his heart. However, she didn't want the tom to directly reveal what happened - this guessing game was incredibly entertaining! And the anticipation was very addicting.

In truth, Fawnskip's backstory did not involve a tom from another clan who broke her heart. She's never had her heart broken, not once. She hadn't known who her parents were, and perhaps their lack of guidance played a role in forming her into who she is today. However, she'd played with her denmates and listened to her elders. It was apprentice-age when Fawnskip discovered flirting. She simply enjoyed it, enjoyed the power it supplied her with, and so she did it. She didn't have a tragic backstory that turned her into who she is, no, she only found a hobby that she was rather passionate about.
The tom gave her a sheepish smile, like he was almost embarrassed. At first he'd felt a little guilty about just watching her guess, but now he was finding this to be fun. It was a game. And Obsidiansky couldn't believe he'd thought Fawnskip was snooty and stuck up and one of those "dumb" - to put it simply - she cats who did nothing but strut around flirting and showing off their looks. No, she was as much fun as anyone else. But she was a different kind of pretty then he was used to, different then Canineheart - who was pretty, but Fawnskip was drop dead gorgeous cat. Cats like that weren't normally found around toms like him. They were found around the inner workings, which Obsidiansky generally stayed out of. To him, the misfits and outcasts made the best friends. But, if Fawnskip was an inner workings kind of cat - she was pretty great too.

"Actually... there were a couple of things we did wrong." Or a few. But a couple is a good number to start with, the others were just - branches off of that. Kind of decisions we made as a result of the bad stuff to clean it up. One bad branch was my fault, the other was hers. The tom thought with a sigh. His branch was still trying to be snuffed out. Hers was getting there, but that didn't mean Obsidiansky didn't miss her. He really missed her. He didn't think about these things when he was with Rainpaw, or Sagewhisker - they never came up. His past never came up, other then the time that Rainpaw had asked if Obsidiansky had known his mother. That had been a pretty painful topic as well.

He remembered Ashstorm, a beautiful and fierce she cat who would have done anything for her kits. Anything for her friends. She had made some of the wrong choices, but she was a brilliant cat. And Obsidiansky had been lucky to know her. "She was the leader in one of them. And isn't this a guessing game? I'm not giving you the answer that easy, Fawnskip!" He purred, his tail twitching back and forth as he did so. He wouldn't say that he would have done anything for her. But yes... he'd loved her. Very much. Before, things had seemed like they could never go wrong.

Canineheart's paws partnered at the dirt gently. No matter how many times she hunted or patrolled, she couldn't help but let her anger get the better of her. The she-cat muttered to herself, her words incomorehensible angry murmurs. But there was no doubting the words that were echoing inside her head. Perfect little Fawnskip. Perfect little Sagewhisker... Over and over the furious thoughts sounded in her head. Would Insidiously have feelings for me if they weren't here? No matter how many times Canineheart prayed with all of her might to StarClan, the she-cats seemed just as clingy.
The deep words of the tom woke Canineheart from her thoughts. Without thinking, the she-cat whipped around, spitting at the unknown cat. "Who are--" Canineheart started, but was cut off by the realization that it was Obsidiansky. "O-oh, um, thanks," Canineheart muttered, looking embaressedly at her paws, which were fiddling with the small stub of the rabbit tail that still protruded from the ground. Oh great StarClan! Canineheart screamed internally, trying to smile at Insidiously, but it only ended in an awkward grimace. Of all the times he could have stopped by...!
"Would you like to finish up the hunting patrol with me?" Canineheart said in a would-be enthusiastic voice. "I was thinking of going near the ThunderClan border. That's where the rabbits have been hiding lately. StarClan help them if we find ThunderClan over the border." Though Canimeheart had expected the joke to sound at least the slightest bit amusing, it came out a bit flat, even menacing, as though it were a threat.
The last time they had been out here, things had ended somewhat awkwardly. Obsidiansky flinched when he remembered that, but he was glad to see Canineheart again. The pretty feline had been on his mind lately... along with other things. If only he could ignore Fawnskip. If only he could ignore Sagewhisker. If only he had Infernosky with him like a constant bodyguard, he was pretty sure she would shut down these cats FAST. He needed protection like that. "I, ah..." The tom wasn't sure whether it was a good idea to go or not. Was he going to hurt anyone else's feelings? Was he going to mess a friendship up like this? As long as he kept things simple, probably not. But Obsidiansky was going to have to make a decision really soon, and he knew that his decision was going to change the course of things.

If he chose Canineheart, it probably would change everything with Sagewhisker and nothing with Fawnskip. If he chose Sagewhisker, it would probably change everything with Canineheart and nothing with Fawnskip. And if he chose Fawnskip, then it would definitely change everything with his two closest friends; Sagewhisker and Canineheart. So where did he go so that he didn't mess anything up? I could always choose Infernosky, he thought with a short chuckle, trying to hide his nervousness. That'd be interesting. The tom who had been one of the first to greet them coming back into the Clans choosing the former deputy? What a story that would make for. "Sure. I think we need to catch up some." He mewed, along with a short laugh at what he was pretty sure had been meant to be a joke. If not, then... oh well. Obsidiansky could be awkward sometimes, he was generally socially apt(ish) however, and the times he was awkward, he was able to pass it off pretty easily.

PROFILE PICTURE REFERENCE

I mentioned on my profile that I was starting over. A fresh start is best for me right now; I've created quite a few new characters, and they will all be on my site, but not all will be used in roleplay right away. it's likely I'll bring them in more gradually.
