Her tail curled at the thought and she hung her head solemnly, if only I was a riverclan cat. She clenched her teeth and raised her gaze back up to him, only too laugh at his statement. A soft mimic of a true laugh. A fake. You could clearly see the excitement and love in her eyes. The rush and adrenaline, yet something clouded her happiness and she couldn't quite let it free. It was fear. There where so many things she couldn't begin to understand, what they were planning on doing next. Coming to the border every day would certainly sicken her, the thought of breaking the rules and laws set down by her leader and his too. She bit her tongue, But how could she leave a place she grew up in? The place she was raised and taught.

Shiverlight gave an awkward smile to the tom, offering him some comfort as he stammered on his words, spit it out! yet when he confessed it hit her in the chest, winding her like being struck in the chest by a rock. It's not like she didn't think he loved her... Or maybe she didn't but she could have never imagined him saying those words. Ever in his or her life time to anyone and really meaning it. She swallowed some bile in her throat and looked at him lovingly. Wether or not he had truly meant it or she was completely being delusional and making things up she had really looked at him with loving eyes. "Charmpelt..." she finally said, taking a heavy breath and looking at her paws as they shuffled nervously below her. Tears formed in her eyes and she looked up at him. It must be done, for his sake Shiverlight. Think of his sake! she simply forced the words out "we- we can't be together" in a jumble of word vomit she choked and looked away.

"It's- it's impossible charmpelt... I have a mate already" she murmured under her breath. He had met the horrid tom before, once at least. And he had spoke on and on about how she should stop seeing him and yet here she was. Dogblood will never be who I love, it's truly charmpelt who takes my heart.and yet here I am lying to his face? "and- and for your protection... You need to stay away..." she whimpered. And now she couldn't bear to look at his face, wether it be amused under the impression she was joking or shock. It crumbled her and she couldn't even bring herself to apologize.

At first, Charmpelt had thought she was going to come back with some sarcastic remark, or maybe not believe him - maybe she would run away, maybe she would be angry. But the last thing he had been expecting were softer words. The way she said his name put a smile on his maw, and for right then, he couldn't even tell that she was nervous. "Yes, darling?" He answered partly teasingly, a purr rumbling in his throat. We can't be together. At first Charmpelt thought she might just be nervous, and he laughed the smallest bit, a smile showing on his maw. "It's alright, Shiverlight. I know there are complications and things might seem like that right now, but I promise, we can be-" The words died on his maw as she began speaking again. It only took five seconds, maybe less, for her to speak, but those words made Charmpelt feel like he had aged at least ten moons. His whole body hurt when he heard her.

I have a mate already. A mate? A mate. So... she had led him on, leading him to believe that she was in love, leading him to believe that she was willing to make this work, and then as soon as he confessed she turned around and said the opposite? His chest hurt. His head hurt. Everything was spinning around, and he shook his head as she started talking away. Telling him he needed to stay away. And she had the nerve to say that it was for his own good? Charmpelt knew how this was going to end. He was pretty sure he had seen this scene play out time and time again, and he didn't want a repeat of the ending for the two of them. "Right. I'm sure your Clan will be missing you... so maybe I should escort you back to your border and - and get you home. Your mate will be waiting."

The Chausie was on autopilot, his whole body numb and his heart aching with a fierce pain. He hated the feeling of it. It was like he was weaker then he had ever been in his life. And now he remembered why he didn't want any of this, because of this awful pain. It was attacking his body, hurting him, and Shiverlight was the root cause of it. She had done this. He should have known better - after Jema, he couldn't be happy. This was the second time that his heart had been broken.

Never again. Never, ever again. How could he have believed her? She had beaten him at his own manipulative game, given him the hope he liked to give others, and ripped it away just as he did. Maybe one of his former targets had put her up to this. "Do me a favor, will you?" He asked, his eyes narrowing with spite and anger, fangs nearly biting his tongue.

"Don't come to the RiverClan border ever again."

With those words, the tom turned his back on her. He would escort her to the border, but it would be as a guard - not a friend.

PROFILE PICTURE REFERENCE

I mentioned on my profile that I was starting over. A fresh start is best for me right now; I've created quite a few new characters, and they will all be on my site, but not all will be used in roleplay right away. it's likely I'll bring them in more gradually.
