Basically he’s a Kwami that got stuck in his miraculous(the ring on his neck) thousands of years ago. Because either he’s technically already inside his miraculous, or because it’s being worn, he cannot go into “storage” like a normal Kwami. So he’s basically just been wandering around for thousands of years. Leetle kookoo.
During that time he learned how to teleport short distances, so if and when anyone tries to grab him he just goes poof and he’s just barely out of reach.

I want him to be canon so bad so he can just MESS with Hawkmoth.
