Nightshadow awoke. He stretched out and yawned. The dappled sunlight of early morning broke through the gorse lining of the warrior den. He washed himself and stretched again. Feeling hungry Nightshadow looked around the den, His sleeping clanmates still in their warm nests. Nightshadow prodded his mate, Lilacstorm, in the back. " wake up! lets hunt!" he whispered. She drowsily looked up, "what?" she replied. "hunt! come on lazy paws!" Nightshadow teased.
