Bramblefrost sniffed, "I can't believe Fernstar's letting you out of camp. My kits had better not step one toe out of FernClan." Her tone softened once she saw the excitement in the kit's eyes, "The kits will be born soon, I believe. Gorseheart says no more than a moon. I don't know how many there will be yet."
She could tell the kit had more questions, such a bundle of barely contained energy she was. She flicked her tail and headed back to the nursery for some peace and quiet.
Fernstar turned to her deputy, "Are you ready to lead the patrol out? Plus one very young warrior?" She gave Blossomkit a kind wink as she said 'warrior'.
