the basic premise is, there are 12 districts. they rebelled against the capitol. they lost, ant the capitol decided to punish them by sending their children into the Arena, in a game called, the Hunger Games. in the hunger games, it is a 24 person free-for-all. last one alive wins their life, a nice house, and food for their district. the district get poorer the farther you get from the Capital, or zero.(eg, 12 is the poorest district.)
