Character of the Month (May 2023)

Welcome to Character of the Month, a feature designed to recognize two characters who deserve kudos!

Using the form found at the bottom of this post, you may nominate two Main Roleplay characters you think deserved to be featured! Please use one form per character - they should not be in the same form.

For the sake of giving every character a chance, avoid nominating cats who have already been nominated for the month.

Nominations will be held for approximately 3 weeks, ending on the 22nd. Once it ends, a poll will be posted displaying the names of the characters who qualify for voting.

Users can vote for as many characters as they want to be recognize, provided it is not their own character. It is discouraged to vote for every character listed, as only two will win.

If two characters have the most votes, but they are roleplayed by the same person, the winner will be picked by staff based on the nomination reasons, and the second winner will default to the next highest vote.

The voting period will end on the last day of the month, and the results will be posted on the 1st of the new month.

Before you nominate, please keep these in mind.

• Characters should have been roleplayed within the last two weeks of being nominated to avoid inactive characters being featured.
  
  
• You may not nominate your own characters, or advertise your characters to gain nominations.
  
  
• Characters used to violate a roleplay rule cannot be voted for the month they broke the guideline. They will be omitted from the final polling.
  
  
• Nominations must include an explanation of why the character deserves recognition. Posts that do not provide a reasoning will be removed. Additionally, be thorough in your evaluation of the character. Vague or thoughtless statements (e.g. "they're cool") will result in your nomination being discarded. We want to know why you think this cat deserves attention!
  
  
• You may nominate two characters, but avoid nominating characters who have already been nominated.
  
  
• A character who has won before may be nominated only after 6 months.

why should this character be featured?: okay hello where do i get to start ?? so, first off moth is absolutely adorable and sososo sweet. he clearly just wants the best for his clan and does his best to help (cow rlly appreciates the cuddles). moths has the sad ideal that they're "useless" which was driven into them by their parents which really adds another layer to mothpaw's drive to help his clanmates. lio writes him so perfectly and just, aaa, they're so sweet

why should this character be featured?: personally i think it's a crime this gal hasn't won cotm. its clear that spirited has put a lot of effort into crafting flameheart's personality and flameheart puts a lot of effort into her clan!! despite her being on the younger side of things, she's a wonderful keeper and has a strong sense of responsiblity. again, her relationship with sootfur is so interesting to read. it's very well developed and in general, flameheart is a very well-developed character who deserves the recognition.

Why should this character be featured?: Now retired and living as a warrior, Snowleap is one of the most brave and loyal cats you may ever meet. They were once Pikestar, leading their Clan to glory, before deciding otherwise and stepping down. That courage is strong, the will to let someone else take over because you can't due to personal problems as an example. The best RiverClan cat and leader must be remembered for his determination and bravery.

Why should this character be featured?: The ThunderClan deputy is a loyal cat. Always there for Thruststar and her Clan. While she may be slightly narrow-minded, she is undoubtedly a strong and brave cat. Bold at times, sometime she can be quiet dumb, but mostly kind and loving. The perfect successor to Thruststar. StarClan protect her and keep her remembered.

Why should this character be featured?: Kes is one of my favorite cats on WCO without a doubt. She is so well written and it's clear that Sol cares about developing Kes. Kes is such a good character and I'm always running to see any posts with her. It's about time that Kes wins cotm!

Why should this character be featured?: another character I'm mad hasn't won cotm. Dappled is such a badass, finding ways to balance being a wonderful mother and queen, and also making ShadowClan better. She is an absolute powerhouse of a cat, and I'm so excited to continue seeing her around!!

Why should this character be featured?: isn’t he such a snazzy boy? Anyways, there is so much to say about this boy and I can’t form the correct words to get it all out. He is strong, an absolute beast with a heart of stone and a fire in his eyes. His stories express an array of emotions even the coldest person could feel. Overall, he’s very well written which is why I nominate BeanSprout!

Why should this character be featured?: I shouldn’t even have to write anything about this boy either. Vulture is cold, the kind that you would fear on the streets. He’s not scary because he induces fear, but rather because he’s mysterious and no one knows what he is capable of. I can’t wait to get to know him more, so that is why I nominate VultureFang!

Why should this character be featured?:I don't know Foxtooth that well but I'm currently doing a rp with him and my character Darkcloud and so far I think he's very interesting he really cares about the cat he loves and will do anything for her even threaten to kill kits and frame other cats for doing bad things also he seems very confident in himself and thinks he can get away from anything so yeah that's why I think Foxtooth should be character of the month.

Why should this character be featured?: goosecurl is such an amazing character, they are so well written by wren and i'm always excited to see a new post featuring them in it. goose is incredibly resilient, stubborn, and speaks her mind. they are an active participant in riverclan activities, even as a queen, and such a joy to interact with.

Why should this character be featured?: berryfrost is so sweet!! unlike most warriors that have been battle-hardened, she's a reluctant fighter who worries about inflicting pain upon others. i loved interacting with her in the windclan plot/battle with the dusk syndicate. she's so empathetic and thoughtful, and very well written!

Why should this character be featured?: she is a super amazing character, and i love how bee ahows off her attitude towards others. She is amazingly rude and snarky, and i absolutely love that.

Why should this character be featured?: I love how she is yet another heartbreaker, and how sickly sweet she is. It is a great character, and rose does amazing persueing that sickly sweet/heartbreaker attitude

Why should this character be featured?: Leopardsong is dedicated to her clan, helping a lot in the fire event. I love that Moonraven roleplays with whoever appears in Leopardsong's sight!

Why should this character be featured?: if theres anyone who deserves to win COTM, it's Raccoonpelt. I am so surprised that no one, including myself (i am scatter brained forgive me xavier), has nominated Raccoon so far. I absolutely adore the way xavier portrays him, from when he was a reluctant ShadowClanner making friends with an overenthusiastic riverclanner to a hesitant full-on RiverClanner and now a grief-stricken, yet determined single father. Every time I see xavier post with Raccoon, i regret that flintfang is now gone and can't interact with him. Still, the lovely entirely deserves to win COTM, and i'm super excited to see where xavier takes raccoonpelt from here on out.
