Giving some Caterpillars away.

Ebonyfang had two branches with two caterpillars on each of them. First he would start off with Riverclan than head over to Windclan. The tom would just hope that they came to the border. He didn't want to trespass even if he was a medicine cat. Ebonyfang padded up to the Riverclan border, setting them down. He knew he would have to explain what they do.

Sparrowskip noticed Ebonyfang over at the border while they were wandering in territory. He nudged Snakepaw to follow him and walked over. "Hey Ebonyfang. What's with the.. caterpillars? Also why are you here?" @Siren Bliss @Rani

Yay walks on the territory... Snakepaw would much rather be on a hunting patrol or battle patrol then this nonsense... Well he still managed to find some flowers he'd seen in the herb storage even if he had no clue what they were or what they did (its marigold). That had to at least somewhat helpful right? Still he was confused when he was rerouted, even if he didn't object to doing something more interesting then this he's just seen some berries that may be useful why were they going this way?

Oh Ebonyfang. Ebonyfang? What was he doing here? The small tom tensed, he was a medicine cat even if he was shadowclan surly this wasn't an attack or a trick... Ah well be friendly but aware just in case, so Snakepaw waved a paw in greeting putting down the flowers "You need something? We hope nothings wrong in shadowclan..." Kinda a lie he didnt care what happened there but polite is as polite does or something.

Ebonyfang caught sight of both of the medicine cats of Riverclan. Oh good he wouldn't have to wait any longer. The tom stood up from he had sat down. "Came by to find you to see if you want a couple of these caterpillars.", he meowed. He pushed one forward with one of his large black paws.

"They make Caterpillar silk that is used as fake cobwebs. I gave one to Frostbreath. Didn't want to leave the other two clans out. They are mostly found on our territory, so their hard to find anywhere else.", Ebonyfang added.

"Fake cobwebs? Made by caterpillars? Are they any different from normal cobwebs?" With the normal impulsively of a teenager any suspicion was lost in the face of curiosity and the tom abandoned his flowers/mentor to pad up and gently poke at the bugs. "Also, why? We don't really have any gifts in return except some of those flowers I found but I don't know what they are or what they do really..." Great going Snakepaw you just admitted weakness to an enemy. Well ok Ebonyfang wasnt an enemy medicine cats didnt have enemies or something stupid, the point still stood! Ears lightly flushing at the embarrassment over the perceived blunder the young tom drew back a bit to not-hide behind his mentor. He was just gonna stay back here now to not say anything more stupid.

Huh, fake cobwebs. Well, there was no point in not accepting them. But Sparrowskip did have a few questions. "How long do they live for? And do we have to take care of them or do they kinda.. fend for themselves." He questioned. He knew nothing about caterpillars and frankly didn't want to know much. But if they were going to have them for a while, he might as well ask these questions now instead of later. @Xmas Bliss @Rani

Ebonyfang was ready for any questions they threw at him. "They work just like cobwebs, but instead of spiders their made by these things. You really don't have to do anything, but put them in a tree and they take care of themselves. They grow into butterflies, but they make more caterpillars.", he meowed. The shadowclan medicine cat wasn't asking for anything in exchange. They were medicine cats they weren't enemies to each other. "I couldn't possibly ask you for anything. I don't want anything in return.", Ebonyfang added.

Aaaaaaand with his questions answered Snakepaw was bored of the conversation. Something of this stank of deeper meaning to the interaction and the apprentice had no patience or desire to be appart of that, or the bugs too closely really. Bugs were great really, useful little creatures made cobwebs and stuff sometimes, but they were best kept at arms length. Snakepaw had his bundle of flowers, which he was pretty sure were herbs, Sparrowskip could take the bugs.

"Well thanks then Ebonyfang, thats.... nice, of you. You been going to all clans passing these around today? Must be tiring, howre you even gonna get back to shadowclan before dark?" Off handed question as Snakepaw picked up his jaw stretching mouthfull of yellow blossoms once more, head cocked to look at the much larger tom.

Huh, Snakepaw was actually being polite for once.. "Yes, thank you very much Ebonyfang, i'm sure we have a tree close by to put them in." Sparrowskip then took the branches from Ebonyfang before nodding to Snakepaw to leave. @Rani @Xmas Bliss
