It was a new morning, crisp and clear. It was 54 degrees outside and there wasn't a cloud in the sky, it truly was a beautiful day. With a long stretch and a powerful yawn, Leafsprout decided it was time for a lesson. Making its way to the apprentice den it poked its head inside, making sure everyone was already stirring before speaking. "Wakey, wakey Oriolepaw. Today I'm gonna show you our territories." it spoke, its voice coming out almost as a gentle whisper. It didn't want to hesitate starting the young cats training, seeing as he had potential and had a shining personality. It would be nice to have more warriors like that. Stepping a bit outside it sat down, licking its fur as it waited for its newfound apprentice.

Oriolepaw was already awake when his mentor came calling. Excitement quickly drove away whatever hint of sleepiness may have remained within him at the thought of finally getting a territory tour. His thoughts swam with grandiose imaginations of what might lay within their borders.

The apprentice bounced out of the den to greet Leafsprout. “I’m ready! Can we leave right now? I can’t wait! I mean, I can wait if I really have to, but I don’t really want to. Not that I’d complain!” His eyes reflected his enthusiasm, bright and wide.

Would they see cats from the other Clans? Would he really go to the borders? He’d heard that they were a few hours’ walk away. That sounded tiring to him, but he’d do it! Would he see Firefly Cove, the infamous stretch of land that RiverClan and ThunderClan were always fighting over?

Smiling at its apprentice's excitement, it gave a quick nod of its head before turning to move. "Then let's go! There's so much to see." Starting to walk towards the camp entrance, it flicked its tail in a 'follow me' motion. "Would you rather I show you the borders first, or the landmarks?" it decided to ask what Oriolepaw wanted to see, considering this was his training also.

Training was always an exciting thing for those becoming warriors, that, it remembers very well. There was much to do, territory tours, maybe a refresher here and there just to be sure, battle training. It was all so exciting to think of its apprentice passing however, and it couldn't wait to see what kind of a warrior he'd turn out to be.

Oriolepaw forced himself to focus long enough to answer his mentor’s question. He hadn’t been expecting to have the ability to choose whether they went to the borders first or to the landmarks. Either seemed very exciting to him, but the borders just a little more so. He loved the idea of finally getting to scent what the other Clans smelled like. Oriolepaw fully expected it to be as awful as the elders said it was!

Flexing his claws in and out of the dirt, he answered, “I’d like to see the borders first, if that’s okay!” He hoped it would be okay; he didn’t want to waste too much more daylight talking! He’d heard the borders were far, so he wanted to get to them as fast as possible.
