She sat contentedly on the railing of her porch. The housefolk had left for their work, so she was in the yard alone. She cooed and jumped down, sauntering to her catnip patch. She rolled in the sweet-smelling plant and purred. She was much happier now. She got up and leaped onto the fence. She looked at the bustling thunderpath and wondered when the housefolk would get back.

James, walked alone wondering how he had forgotten whet house he had lived in. Soon his nose twitched and he turned. The gate, the smell. THis was it, his old house. With a new cat. James cringed before leaping onto the fence. "Hi." He said, smiling slightly.

The pale silver she-cat looked down from her perch. A tom-cat, who looked pretty roughed up perhaps from alley life, was there. Their gazes met and a nervous smile spread across her face. My name is Miss Silver. Yours? she said with her smile on her face. She hopped down, gracefully landing on her paws. Her fluffy tail flicked once before she sat, wrapping the tail around her paws. She waited for the tom's answer.

My name is Miss Silver. Yours? she said with her smile on her face. She hopped down, gracefully landing on her paws. Her fluffy tail flicked once before she sat, wrapping the tail around her paws. She waited for the tom's answer.

"Ummmmm James. I uh used to live in that house. Just thought id say hi to my owner's new cat." James said nervously, his tail flickering. He was nervous, not used to acting civil after living with his boyfriend's little group. "I ummm quite like your name!" He said, attempting to brighten the mood he had dampened.

She smiled and wrapped her fluffy tail around her paws. Quite a handsome name of yours, James. You look quite grimy, no offense! Would you like to come into the garden? You could use the birdbath to clean off most of the grease. she said. She really hoped that he wouldn't be offended. She stood, a few stickers had clung to her silky pelt.

James blushed sightly at the compliment then quickly glanced at his fur. It was sort of dirty.....and this cat didn't seem like a threat... He jumped the fence and tentatively sniffed the water before sitting in it and cleaning himself. He particularly didn't mind water, he knew most cats hated it. "Th-thanks" He whispered as his fur began to clear of debris.

She smiled at him, nodding. She had hopped the fence too and was now sitting on a rock. What's a favor between friends? It's no problem. she purred, standing and padding tentatively towards him. We are friends, right? she asked, embarassed.

Her tail puffed out too, wrapping around her paws. She purred at the clouds, there would soon be frost on the ground. She loved frost, it meant snow was coming soon after.
