what if hawkpaw/wing saved duskpaw first?

i was reading Hawkwing's Journey, and I thought,

"hey, what if hawkpaw saved duskpaw first instead!"

how do you think the plot would have been effected? would the book have gone how it did?

(btw i didnt finish reading it yet- i made it to where hawkwing is with birdwing's babies and looking for his clanmates and snipkit)
