“I’m good thanks,” Willowpaw mewed back “I’m hoping to get some sleep before training.” Willowpaw then went and started needling her nest with her claws.

Crowpaw nodded, acknowledging that. Beside her, the tom she had jabbed — Cottonpaw — sat up and rubbed his nose with one sandy colored paw.

"I could've slept in wayyy longer," he huffed, keeping his voice low so the other apprentices wouldn't be disturbed.

The two siblings awaited their mentors.

Maplepaw lowered her paws down to the ground. Winterpaw... she heard that name before. He was apprenticed not too long ago, wasn't he? That would mean that Maplepaw was older than him. So... either that was why he looked so tiny, or she was just huge. . . or he was tiny--(just read his bio he is not)--Wait. Her life, naturally longer, would span beyond his barring any misfortune. Then, she would die before him.

Her heart was still thumping from the frantic wake-up. Why was it still thumping? Maplepaw shook her head and closed her eyes, focusing on her breathing, rhythmically inhaling and exhaling, counting to steady the beat: one, two, one, two, one, two, one. Two. One. Two. One. Two! One! Two! ONE. TWO. ONE. TWO.

FOXDUNG. This wasn't working. Her heart was just beating faster and her breathing speed increased and she was sweating now. Maplepaw just gave a huff and sat down, flicking her tail. "It's-s alrrright." She mrrped with the tiniest hint of sarcasm.

Rabbitpaw wasn't sure if it wasn't a very light feeling anymore given the last of the news that Miss Twilightstar had given but it that didn't mean that the new apprentices didn't deserve a welcome! It meant they deserved an even better welcome. Though the news of even more Riverclan tampering was weighing down on him largely. It felt like sting after sting from the wound of his curse but the blonde couldn't let that bring him down. He needed to be cheery because if he wasn't who was going to be. Anyways, it was a small time after the meeting when Rabbitpaw went into the clearing to search for the new apprentices. Snowpaw, Honeypaw, and Vinepaw! New additions! They needed to get their nests and feel at home in their new den until they moved on to the warriors den. Rabbitpaw thought himself a pretty good welcomer!

"Honeypaw, Snowpaw, Vinepaw!" The blonde apprentice called out to the trio, hoping they would hear and come over to him where he was right outside the apprentices den, "Come on over, I want to welcome everyone to the den, help you sort out nests and answer any questions and stuff! Like a party, we can share prey and chat afterwards if you want?" He really hoped that at least one of them answered his call otherwise this would be kind of embarrassing huh? Welp, it was the thought that counts right?

Vinepaw sat in the clearing lost in thought about life and his training before he was jerked from his thoughts at the sound of a voice that sounded familiar he looked up and around for the source of the sound and his eyes landed on rabbit paw who was standing on the outside of the apprentice den he quickly got to his paws and padded over he shrunk back in his fur a little once he finally reached the older apprentice “Hey rabbitpaw thanks for the warm welcome,I didn’t really think I would get one”he steps into the den slowly taking in the new space it was bigger than what the nursery had been.He looked around and saw some empty nests that seemed to be meant for them and he walked over near them he was overwhelmed with the newness but he put up a smile and turned back towards rabbitpaw “It’s perfect in here want me to go fetch a rabbit or moss?” he asked softly while trying to keep his cool

Honeypaw hadn't been doing anything in particular when she heard Rabbitpaw's call. "Oh?" As a new apprentice, she hadn't really been in the apprentice den too many times. She padded over. "Oooh, a party, that sounds like fun!" She entered the den, nodding to Vinepaw as she stepped in. She sat, not in any particular nest, just on the ground. Technically I'm not sure I have a nest yet.

To say Snowybreeze was concerned would be an understatement. It had been... so long since he had last spoken to his apprentice. Too long. Had the younger tom become angry with him for some reason? Truth be told, he hadn't so much as laid eyes on the gray feline for some time, and memories of all his previous apprentices couldn't help but flash before his eyes. Mocking him and his incompetence.

Milknose he had not failed. The tom had made it to warriorhood. Despite the two felines having been so similar in age, they had made it work, and the tom had made his assessment by helping out in a moment of chaos. And yet even after everything had been said and done, the tom had vanished. Left all the cats he had once been friends with behind, heart broken and worried for him. He remembered the warrior's problems breathing, and despite himself assumed the worst. That he had died somewhere. Out of breath. Alone and afraid.

The same couldn't be said about Crookedpaw. Much as he had liked the tabby, the younger tom had vanished before he had so much as made it to warrior. With his inability to hear and his penchant to daydream he always wondered if he had left the camp's grounds alone. Unaware of how forbidden it was. He had always seemed a little lost. Uncertain of his surroundings. A quirk that Snowybreeze himself shared, and unfortunately had never had the heart to correct. So what if he liked to spend his days imagining? It made him happy! As long as he was keeping up with training... that was all that mattered, right?

Wrong. He had been wrong. Unequivocally, intrinsically wrong. As always. His apprentice had vanished... and yet for some reason Twilightstar had deigned him fit for a third apprentice. For a third paw that he could disappoint with his uselessness. Snowybreeze swallowed hard at this thought, concern clear in his sky blue eyes even as he took note of the empty nests there.

Maybe it was time for him to be more proactive? Not pushy... of course. No no, never! All at Hushpaw's pace, of course! But... maybe... just maybe... They had gotten off on the wrong foot? Perhaps he truly had done something to anger the tom! And how could he ask for forgiveness if he didn't know what that was?! So... step one. Hope Hushpaw was in here... Step two... beg for forgiveness. Step three? Well... that was getting a little ahead of himself. There was no guarantee he was worthy of forgiveness, after all...

"Hushpaw?" the warrior whispered, a sigh of relief escaping him no sooner had the name left his maw.

It would appear his uncalled for bout of infernal screeching had finally ended. He had no idea what had happened before. How he had come to gain such a raucous, horrendously loud voice. But that was gone now. His voice back to the proper, polite whisper he'd always carried. The thought of attempting to apologize while he was bearing down such boisterous volumes of yowling was quite terrifying, truth be told. Small blessings and all... he supposed.
