The first mistake Cloudwillow made, was assuming Lionstar wouldn't follow her when he saw her leaving camp with her poor, unfortunate kittens in tow.

The second mistake she made, was completing disregarding his order at the Clan freaking meeting to stay away from this piece of fox dung.

And the third was just plain and simple, being caught.

As for Duskrunner.. Lionstar wasn't sure what to do with him. He had told him to stay out of his territory and here that fox-hearted traitor was, endangering his kits and their mother.

"I told you to get out of our territory." Lionstar's voice was venomous as he stopped in front of the traitor, unwavering gaze fixated on Duskrunner. "I told you to leave and you refused to listen. You betrayed RiverClan, you've chosen to disregard the safety of your kits, and you can't even respect basic boundaries.

"You're making it incredibly difficult for me to not simply kill you where you stand. Not only are you an outsider, but you've threatened the security of my Clan-mates, including kits." Lionstar unsheathed his claws, muscles tensing as he awaited Duskrunner's response.

"Fawnsqueak [ @Dipper], take Cloudwillow and her kits back to camp." He knew Violetkit was nearby-- having a dark pelt color didn't mask her scent. Cloudwillow and Dovekit were visibly on the beach. "Tell Cloudwillow to go directly to my den and get those kits away from her. I don't need her reckless decisions to endanger their lives any further."

Given what little information he had on the task, Fawnsqueak was unprepared for the seriousness of the issue when they managed to track down the scummy traitor and reckless mother and her neglected kits. He couldn't believe she'd actually followed this guy -- bringing her kits with, no less -- after that ridiculous display at the clan meeting. Fawnsqueak wasn't even his mate, and he was embarrassed to be within five tail-lengths of him. Pretty appalled too that the kits' parents somehow became warriors in spite of their inability to use basic critical reasoning, and it was posing a danger to the innocent kits trapped in the situation.

He nodded dutifully when Lionstar said to gather Cloudwillow and the kits to escort them back. "Yeah, I can... I'll do that," he mumbled out, still tongue-tied as he watched this wreckage unfolding. To Cloudwillow, he said, "Hey, uh, you guys might want to come back. Before..." There was a nervous knot in his throat. Predators were out. Surely the parents had to have known this journey wasn't suitable for kits. "Violetkit and Dovekit," he called out to them, peering into the forest to where he believed the kit to be, "let's go home, okay? It's safer there, and.. home-y. Y'know, where owls won't have a chance at swooping you away." Cloudwillow... he didn't have a preference whether she returned with them or not. The kits didn't deserve this fate and as she was part of its orchestration, Fawnsqueak wouldn't be heartbroken if her last poor decision was to stay with Duskrunner.

Cloudwillow hung her head and followed Fawnsqueak back to camp. Her heart felt heavy as she turned to leave.

She brushed past Lionstar with an apologetic look in her eyes but she knew she would have to face the consequences of meeting an outsider. Why did Duskrunner betray her like that?

Picking up Dovekit by the scruff, she began the humiliating journey back into the forest.

Of course the spineless traitor would run. Lionstar let him, making a note to tell the Clan they could kill him on sight. He was proving to be a nuisance that condoned endangering the lives of kits.

Cloudwillow.. he still fully expected her to meet him in his den when they got back. If she didn't come willingly, he'd come to her-- and they'd have their chat in front of the rest of the Clan.

Spinning on his paws, he stalked over to where Violetkit was hiding, reached to grab her, and headed back to camp.

Things to deal with in a moment. What a headache.

Violetkit went willingly, she was crying and weak, her dad was leaving and he had been the only one who loved her.
