The colorful leaves ruffled down as Michel padded
through the new ares, this was the first time he had been here, he hadn't
had to but now... things had changed and more was still on they way. That
however wasn't Michel's job to worry about, it was time for him to find his
next subject after the last one's passing, something that still pained him
even though he had promised himself not to get attached.

As he kept walking a garden emerged in front of him. Something about the place made
his whiskers tingle, was thing were his next service would be? Michel took a leap on to
the fence and looked around. There were some catnip there but what caught his eye
was a brown and cream she-cat, most likely the owner of this garden. But she looked
young and healthy, not in need of his guidance, perhaps she knew someone who did though.

(Sure, but this is an old thread. Tinker is currently pregnant and her fence is lined with fence rollers to keep her from getting out.)

Tinker stretched as she heard something hit her fence. She jolted. Maybe it was Ban! But she looked up and saw a cat she'd never seen before.

She sat down and wrapped her feathered tail around her paws. She cocked her head and smiled, "Oh hi! I haven't seen you before! What's your name?" She glanced pointedly at the bars lining her garden fence. "I'd invite you in but those will make it so you can't get back out." She shrugged and laughed. "Housefolks are such silly, worrying creatures sometimes."

The she-cat seemed oddly disappointed at the sight of Michel, he did quite understand
why, sure, he agreed that he might not be the most talkative cat but... ergh, whatever,
she was probably just hoping for someone else...

Michel smiled and dipped his head to the little the she-cat, not out of joy as much out of
politeness. "I haven't been here before" he mewed and thought for a moment
about her question, his name of those he had many, Angel, Snowy but Michel had to be the most
common one, so he gave that. "My name is Michel, and I do not seek shelter in your... housefolks'...
den. I can fair splendidly for my self." He hesitated for a moment if or not to tell this cat about
his fate, but again, she could know someone who's path was coming to an end. "You won't
understand my seek but do you have someone... who doesn't have much time of life renaming."

Tinker smiled warmly. "Oh, well it's a really nice place. I'm somewhat new too! But there are lots of amazing friends here. Are you going to stick around here for a while?"

She giggled at the proper way he conducted himself. It was different than she was used to but, as with everything else, she liked it. "Michel is a very nice name. Do you have housefolks too or are you a stray? I have some friends that are strays and they're really amazing." She paused, getting lost in pleasant thoughts.

She bounced back. "Oh! I don't doubt you are good how you are! I mean you're welcome to stay with my housefolks, I'm sure, I would never turn away new friends! I was just making sure you didn't get stuck in if you didn't want to."

She paused, considering his last question, a quizzical look twisting her face. "Doesn't have much time? You mean, like, they're dying or something?" She shook her head slowly, thoughtfully, and drawled out, "No...no, I don't know of anybody like that. I hope none of my friends are going to leave any time soon." She met his eyes, her head cocked curiously. "Why do you ask?"

Well she centrality was.. talkative... not unlike other cats he'd met
on in wander. So many questions, yet so little time to waste... "Never you
mind my asking" he mewed calmly, picking that question start with. "I'll stick
around where my fate leads me and both the leaight of my stay and where I do so
varies depending on my subjects' fair" His answers were somewhat... wage but this
energetic young she cat had no need to trouble her self with the destiny he had been
given... that was only of his concern. "Speaking of my stay, I will not stick around
where I am not needed..." Perhaps this wasn't the place he'd been looking for after all....

Tinker cocked her head. "Oh. Are you leaving so soon? You seem busy but I don't think anybody should be too busy to have friends."

She jumped off her chair and padded towards the fence, scanning it again for any way around the bars along the top of the fence. She scrunched her face and shrugged. She sat back, wrapping her tail around her paws. "You seem like somebody who goes to lots of cool places and has super cool stories. My housefolks haven't always kept me in here like this. They used to let me out and go on adventures! But once they figured out that I'm carrying kits they locked me in. I'm sure they'll let me out again when my kits are big."

Michel blinked at Thinker, honestly a little surprised at
the news. "You're expecting?" He had thought he was fairly good at
spotting sighs of pregnancy but maybe it was just in early stages. "I'm
afraid the job I've been assigned requires me to move quite a bit..." He could feel
a thought beginning to grow inside him like a new sprout in spring... After all, guiding
souls from this world to the next wasn't his only job... bringing them here was a part
of that two.... "Yes, I've been in places, though it has never been my choice
as to where I go... And... the stories I have have never ended in happiness...
I'd be unwilling to cloud your mind with such thoughts..."

Tinker lifted her chin proudly and nodded. "Yep! My housefolks took me in a box in one of their monsters all the way to more housefolks who could see the kits inside my belly." She smiled and purred.

"Job?" She cocked her head. "What's a job? And why does it make move so often?"

Well she was right about something, housefolk certainly were wired… And some
of them could apparently see kit inside the mother? Michel knew of cats who were
a little different, that had special abilities… perhaps there were humans with
those kind of powers as well…
He didn’t quite understand who this cat didn’t know what a job was, but then
again she’d probably never had one either… ”A job is like a thing you do
without it benefiting you directly, eating wouldn’t be a job because you do it out
of your own will, something like caring for your kits would be a job, a
responsibility” That was the best way to explain it, something you did
because you just had to, not because you wanted to… As for why he moved so
often… that was a thing that would be hard to explain without telling her
everything, something he really shouldn’t do… So he left it unanswered for now…

Tinker nodded thoughtfully. "Ohhh, okay." She still wasn't sure she understood. She thought it over for a moment and then meowed curiously, "Why would you do something that you don't want to do?"

She was beginning to understand responsibility. She now had a responsibility to raise her kits but she was excited about that and she wanted to have her kits with her. She considered the possibility of if she hadn't actually wanted the kits; surely her housefolks would take care of them, but did that mean she was free from that responsibility.

Her thoughts were cut off by a yawn. She shook out her pelt. She didn't want to think about hypothetically not wanting Ban's kits. "Well, I don't think I could do a job if it meant I wasn't allowed to also have friends."
