Tigerpaw felt tears in her eyes when her name wasn't called for a reassignment. I guess I'm on my own for training... She looked like a battle-hardened warrior, and yet she had never been a warrior and was even demoted to a kit for a moon. I bet Twilightstar doesn't have any hope in me. The orange tabby hung her head down. She has to contain her sadness. I just want to have a warrior name. I will be an elder before I become a warrior at this rate.

Cedarpaw turned to look at Scalescar. She never knew him, but that didn't mean she couldn't congratulate him. "Scalescar!" She yowled, hopefully, some cats would pick up. But, she could understand that maybe some cats were still shaken about the new camp and the fire. But hopefully, it would lighten up soon.

She didn't know any of the cats who died in the fire either. She never knew the name of the Queen who died. Nor any of the others. But she dipped her head, mourning for the lives lost.

When she was finished mourning, she prayed for nothing else to come. That this was it. No more troubles, Attacks, etc. She hoped that this meeting was a sign that this was all over.

She wondered what the other clans were doing. Shadowclan was probably busy worrying about killing each other. That was an easy guess. Shadowclan was always busy either killing each other or any other clan. Riverclan, however, was a tough one. Normally Riverclan would be fishing. But since all the crazy stuff happening so far, she could doubt Riverclan was doing that. She decided to ditch the idea. Anything could be happening.

Some cat other than his sister had spoken to him! He tended to blend into the background of most conversations, so being the center of attention even for a moment was a nice change of pace. Owlkit scooted closer to the pair, plopping himself in between the two.

He listened as Cedarpaw explained his condition to Hawksprint. Hopefully he wouldn't find it weird. Some of the other kits found his muteness boring or creepy. A few of them thought he was just too stupid to speak.

I'm not stupid, he thought, It's just that the words don't want to come out.

Cedarpaw's question stole his attention. "Tell me, have you made your nest yet?" Owlkit nodded at first, but then shook his head, remembering that he had shirked his nest building to attend the meeting.

Speaking of which, Twilightstar continued on with the overdue ceremonies; naming Scalescar a warrior, and requesting a moment of silence for WindClan's fallen. He was great at that last part.

He didn't cheer at any of the other ceremonies, mainly because he couldn't, but also because he knew they wouldn't have understood. He'd only ever made an effort to communicate with Cedarpaw, so she had an easier time understanding what his exaggerated movements meant.

Owlkit nudged his sister, trying to grab her attention. He held his paw in front of his chest and bounced it up and down. Then he flipped the paw outwards and unsheathed his claws, performing a grabbing motion in the air. Finally, he pulled his paw back to his chest in a 'come here' movement and tilted his head. He knew his sister would understand.

He wanted to know if his sister would catch any frogs for him during her training. Those were his favorites!

Leopardpaw

The black and white apprentice padded back into the center of their new camp after his border patrol with some of the warriors. Twilightstar was on the Galewood, naming Scalepaw with their new warrior name, Scalescar. "Scalescar! Scalescar! Scalescar!" He cheered. Leopardpaw listened to some of the apprentices get their new assignments. Wow.. we must have really lost a lot of cats in the move...

Shaking the sad thoughts away he waved his tail, looking at Silentleap as they received their apprentice. I hope Asterblink and Silentleap let both Fogpaw and I train together! The thought of practicing battle moves excited him. Leopardpaw felt he was growing stronger by the moment, especially since being in their new home and finding a new daily routine.

Leopardpaw bowed his head at the saddening news of a queen losing her life kitting during the fire. His heart fluttered at the thought of where his own mother was.. and what she was doing. He couldn't imagine losing his mother in such a tragic way. When Twilightstar announced Tulippaw, now Tulipwing's death, his stomach dropped further. "Tulipwing, Tulipwing, Tulipwing," he chanted through the sadness in his throat.

Scalep-scar, Scalescar listened to Twilightstar, his head hanging as he listened to twilightstar giving him his name. The tom Silently sat their as the new name rang through his head. The tom could feel silent encouragement from snowybreeze then going into deep thought he began to lose track of the meeting. Soon after his deep thought, he perked as he heard lilyhearts name, The grief Spreading further along his body. The tom got up and went to the back of the crowd cats, His tail still dragged as he got up and sat down. The tom flattened his ears as he laid down behind the cats.


The tom curled his crushed tail around his paws, His head hung close to his paws. The tom slowly unsheathed his claws with no control as he listened to cats say his name, his name that every cat chanted seemed to echo in slow motion. Eventually his claws bursted fully out as he thought of Lilyheart, His teeth began to bare as he thought of fireflame and Ashpaw.


The tom took a deep breath and calmed down, His mouth closed and his claws sheathed as he regathered his calmness. His breathing became shaky as he laid their, his body full of anger, depression, and grief the tom somehow manage to stay down. His ears lifting a little as he listened to twilightstar, his new name continued to ring in his ear as he he silently gathered his ceremony. Of course he felt no pride, no proudness, nothing, just a blank expression on his face as he imagined how his life could have been before.


His head shook side to side as he tried not to think about that, the tom knew snowybreeze was busy so he turned his head away not even thinking about twistedpaw or wolffang who took notice of his behavior. A low rumble trilled through his voice throughout the meeting, If only he could see his family his brother, his father and mother but he can't open his eyes he's blind of course.
