Once she got in her favorite place, she laid down in a circle, burrowing her muzzle in her fur. She wanted to see Bristlebramble again, but she also wanted to be alone. She silently began crying.

The next morning, Bristlebramble slipped out of the warriors' den. Since Flowerheart wasn't around, Redrunner had been told by Maplestar to assign patrols while she had a meeting with Mudclaw, and so the tabby tom listened as the ruddy warrior dipped his head toward Nettlemist, "I want you to lead the first hunting patrol. Take... Dayblaze, uh... Rootsnap, and... how about Oceanbreeze if she's around?" he then turned around and scanned the clearing again. "Jaggedblossom!" he called, bounding over to the tom, "Have you seen Micah? I haven't seen him since he left with Tempestgrowl, and that was last night... Have you seen either of them?"

Bristlebramble listened to the words leaving Redrunner's mouth as he passed the two toms. Huh. I haven't seen Micah or Tempestgrowl either, he padded faster and slipped out of camp before he could be given orders. Hopefully, the kittypet-turned-warrior was ok, but as far as he was concerned he wanted to see if Littlewing was anywhere near the border. There was something about that she-cat that made him purr, and so he skidded to a stop at the border, in another moment his amber eyes landing on the fluffy warrior, lying curled on the other side of the river, "Littlewing!" he called, a jab of concern piercing his heart. He hardly knew her, and yet he was worried, "Are you alright?" he dove into the water and paddled to the other side, pulling himself out.

Mottlekit and Grovekit pattered out of the nursery, followed by a slower, clumsy Finchkit. The smallest tabby, noticing Streampaw, bounded over, "Streampaw!" Grovekit instantly recognized the medicine cat apprentice from the time she'd visited, "Streampaw! Where's Rushwhisker? She left to go hunting and it's been hours."

He approached more slowly, shaking the water from his coat and taking in her words. He padded up slowly, crouched, and rested his head gently on her forehead briefly, "What happened?" he asked.

Redrunner nodded at Oceanbreeze, "Great. You'll be on Nettlemist's patrol," he turned back to Jaggedblossom."

The kits looked at each other, "But we're hungry," Finchkit complained.

Grovekit bristled, "I miss her!"

Mottlekit was the only kit with a true look of concern on her face. She looked at her paws, then looked back at Streampaw, "She's - She's... Streampaw, I think she's been attacked. I can hear her yowling inside my mind or something," she said, frightened.

Tempest stormed on in the camp grounds without Micah , his face and body language full of unchecked fury "the kittypets gone! Apparently he couldn't take a simple heated argument .' What do you have against me and redrunner?' , ' I ran across without a break that's why I'm exhausted ' for the love of the darkforest ! " he growled as he yelled his announcement . He spat at the ground " and apparently I'm to blame . So everyone feel free to do so." he added with a snap before he looked at where Maplestar would be with a lash of his tail .

Rootsnap flicked his ears at the mention of a patrol with a flash of his eyes and dashed over only to be followed by Freezepaw "I'm coming along bristlebramble , I don't wanna be stuck here with that raging storm " she meowed as she glared at Tempestgrowl only for Rootsnap to agree with a shiver and nod "where we heading ?" Rootsnap asked .

Rushwhisker is missing and Mottlekit just had another sign. She can hear her mother screaming. You have to set out a searching party" she said.

He bounded toward the exit to the camp, skidding to a halt when he saw Freezepaw and Rootsnap leaving. (Bristlebramble left already) "The two of you, @Pluto can you please look for Rushwhisker? She's been missing since yesterday, and she has kits," there was desperation and worry in his voice.

Bristlebramble, looking concerned, didn't know what to say. So he sat where he was, watching Littlewing and rasping his tongue over her ear. She was from a different clan, and as such, he knew he couldn't get comfortable with her, but... but she was in pain and she'd help him if he was hurting. So how could he resist?

"I - I don't know," Bristlebramble muttered, standing up. He took a step back, shaking his head rapidly, "It's all messed up. But I know you're in pain and so am I. Bristlebramble stared, confusion flooding him. He liked Littlewing, really, but did he like her.... like her too much? "I - Littlewing, I -" he fell short and shook his head, turning around and racing back through the territory. This was wrong. He couldn't love her...
