His first day out as a mentor, with his very own apprentice. Ready to learn the ins and outs of being a warrior... and Sunchaser was an absolute nervous wreck.

How was he suppose to teach this whiner? He couldn't stomach turning this apprentice into yet another mocking voice - why did Buckstar have to do this to him? Wasn't the entire Clan making a mockery of his views on love trial enough? When was he going to be let off of this sharp hook?

"Okay, so... warrior training," he began, but let his voice trail off as he pondered what to say next. Bringing his gaze up to Fizzlepaw, he wondered if maybe he should let the young tom ask about what he wanted to be trained in. "...What do you wanna do first, little guy?"

Fizzlepaw was right behind his mentor. He was really excited for him to finally train him. He didn't care what he learned if it was a lesson he was fine. He looked around, trying to memorize everything in the Training Cave. Most likely he'd forget what this place looked like. He easily forgot.

"Hunt. Fizzle learn hunt.", he meowed. What he heard it was an easy thing to do. His mama told him it was her favorite. He wanted it to be his favorite too. Fizzlepaw didn't say anything more. His mama always thought he was annoying, so he tried to talk as little as possible. Plus some cats couldn't understand him sometimes with his odd speech. He wasn't able to make full sentences.

The scrawny, bloodied kit gazed up at the huge tom with a wide eyed gaze. He...he was...whats the word...? Nife? Mice? wait, no, that wasn't it... Oh! Nice! This cat was nice! The grey kits eyes brightened as he came to the realization, his chest slightly puffing out in pride. Olive eyes slowly followed the movement of Gravehounds tail, his eyes round with wonder. The smooth gentle movement was...almost mesmerizing, in a way. Slowly, oh so slowly, the Somali tom reached out a shaking paw, gently touching his raw and beaten paw pads to the tip of the warriors fluffy tail, this time lingering for the slightest moment before immediately being snatched back to his chest. His head slowly tilting to the side, he continued to gaze at the tail before deciding to be a bit more... risky. Risky as in: ´Im going to maybe use both paws this time, and maybe touch it for a little longer´. Still, progress was progress.

As he reached out his two front paws, he struggled to balance on his wobbly hind legs. But he didn't mind - at least, not really. As he gently took hold of the end of Gravehounds tail with his sheathed paws, which looked so tiny compared to the other toms huge ones, he held on for a little over 5 seconds before he lost his balance and toppled to the ground, a small yelp threatening to escape him. But even though he was hurting again, he got back up again - even if it was at an unbearably slow pace. The tail continued waving, and he unknowingly shuffled closer and closer to the thunderclan cats fluffy belly. by the time he realized, he was already gently pressed against the warm fur of Gravehound.

Before he had any time to process what exactly had happened, he felt something rough and scratchy start to rub against his fur. Fear started coursing through him, his eyes wide with fear and he ducked his head down with his paws covering his eyes. Oh, why did he trust this cat? Why did he think this bad, bad cat was nice? Now he was gonna hurt more, and it was all his faul- Wait. What? What was that...that feeling? It felt almost...soothing, in a way. Slowly and cautiously peeking out from underneath his paw and up at gravehound, he was relieved to find that he was just being... being... - oh, another hard word... Gribed? Groobed? Once again, he found himself struggling to remember the proper word for what was happening. Well, whatever was happening didnt seemed to hurt him, even though sometimes his more hidden scratches and scrapes were slightly agitated by the strokes of Gravehounds tongue.

Oooh baby oh little adorable baby so scared yet so curious and sweet. The warrior was struggling not to cry when the kit hid at being groomed (almost like they'd never been before) as he desperately tried to communicate in the only language all cats knew. He purred. Kittens purred after just being born, mother cats purred to bond and sooth their kittens to sleep in a lullaby, hurt cats and their loved ones purred to help heal and scared cats purred to make friends and even if this kitten couldnt hear it Gravehound would purr his heart out to make sure they knew they were safe now. So many cuts so much blood and the fluffy tom somehow gentled his movements even more as he curled his tail around the tiny thing tongue lapping along his pelt.

It was obvious the little thing wasnt going to be able to get to camp on its own, it struggled so with only a few steps, but he doubted the injured scrap would let him carry him yet at all... But he had a plan. Kits were notorious for being high energy high sleep little things and with the adrenaline and panic fading eventually the scrap would just drop form exhaustion and maybe even fall asleep against Gravehounds belly right there. With the calm of sleep he could carry him back! But that could just not occur too, distrust and fear was a strong motivator, so the mute tom might have to win his trust before attempting a pick up. If that was the case the warrior had the next best thing to a kit, especially a skinny one food bribery. A warrior could easily catch something to feed the kitten with to earn their trust and then carry them back to camp where he'd be safe even if he'd originally come out here to hunt for the clan... (The kitten would be appart of the clan soon and it'd still count it was fine)

And if there was also a fear of the warrior carrying him? Gravehound would find and murder whoever did this to a kit settle the little thing between his big shoulders for a badger ride back to camp with ease. Right the plan was in place now it was time to make sure the kitten knew they were safe with him, safe now from whatever had hurt him.

Frostpaw had no qualms about leaving camp alone, she was the rightful medicine cat and had no need to be escorted out of camp as she carefully picked two death berries, and extra one just in case Tidepaw was super tough and one didn’t hurt him. For once, she was actually careful not to damage the berries.

Sloefrost left camp, and turned back to make sure Forestpaw was following her.

Though Hareflood knew Moonprance came from a place of concern, something about his attitude made his skin itch. He didn't like it, not at all. So he did what he knew best.

Bristling his pelt, he snarled at the other warrior. "If I wanted to be mocked and mothered, I'd have sought out my own. Buzz off, Moonprance-- you're useless." Like Beetlepaw. If Hareflood had the guts, he'd take care of Moonprance the same way he took care of Lilacsnow. Like a badass.

His tail lashed as he turned away, stalking through the undergrowth. He could smell Sunpoppy nearby and that made him feel better-- stronger. "Sunpoppy!"

Silverclaw stayed a bit away from the humid bog that consisted of Muskrat Mire. She didn’t want to put Fizzlepaw in danger.
