Since Bliss didn't have much motivation today Marigoldleap just chanted with everyone else, perhaps being louder than she normally was. She was quite proud.

Fawnlight
Despite the anxiety that gnawed at her as she announced her new name to the gathered crowd, something about the cheering of her Clanmates grounded her. It kept her from floating off into the sky as she stood, blue eyes shimmering with mist. Every single voice reached her ears, every single one of her Clanmates who were yowling and chanting. In that moment, for the first time in her life, Fawnlight decided to let the pride seep in. The acknowledgement that damn, she had come so far since first venturing out of the nursery almost four seasons ago. It felt good to recognize it; not often did the medicine cat allow herself to stop to notice the progress. She hated anything to do with ego, and would much rather put her paws to the grindstone and work, work, work. But... it felt nice.

This was her family. Her home. Her Clanmates, every single one of them. Even those who thought she did not see them or know them - she did. From every set of perked up ears to every swishing tail; every pair of gleaming eyes to the four paws that carried them. They were special to her, irreplaceable and beautiful. Souls that were as unique and unidealistic as the cats who bore them. It was then she understood how deep her love for RiverClan ran. Not just because it was her home, but because they were.

Sure, not ever single cat seemed all that thrilled. Fawnlight swore her eyes even caught a yawn. But... that was okay. Part of growing up had been accepting that not every cat she came across was going to like her, for whatever reason, as much as she had strived for that at first. What mattered, what truly mattered, was that she knew her intentions. She knew, at the heart of every decision she made, was love for her Clan. Loyalty, commitment, dedication. She would give every ounce of spirit and soul she had for her Clanmates, and fight with the ferocity of a hundred lions against those who would try to tear them down.

Lifting her tail in the air in an attempt to quiet down the chanting, Fawnlight smiled. For a moment, she remained silent. Tears were at the edge of her eyes as gratitude for the faces below overwhelmed everything else. "Thank you. I don't... I don't know if I will ever be able to express how much it means to me to be apart of RiverClan - apart of this family. But I do know one thing; I will serve as your medicine cat until my last breath. Whatever challenges come our way, whatever battles we face, I know we will face together as a Clan. I may have gotten the suffix of light, but to me the real light of RiverClan is each of you. Your individuality, your compassion, your loyalty. You are what make RiverClan what it is, and without you it would not be the same. I am proud to stand alongside you all."

Fawnlight watched the crowd below, feeling as though she could run faster than the wind and swim deeper than the fish. The pure energy she could feel from her Clanmates was so tangible that the medicine cat knew it was something she would hold onto for moons to come. In days of great strife, it would be something to uncover and reflect on, that she was certain.

Giving another smile, she flicked her tail. "This meeting is dismissed." And with that, the young medicine cat leapt from the Streamstone and landed at the base.

[ I will be honest, I had a whole other post typed up that was vastly different. But... something struck me while typing this. Call it gratitude, or thankfulness, but I was drawn to write a sort of love-letter to RiverClan, and in turn the users of WCO. Every single word spoken here is true. I am so thankful to know all of you, to see you and write with you and be apart of this wonderful online community we've created. Sometimes, just like Fawnlight, I get nervous and anxious and I worry about silly things, but goodness in moments like these I experience none of those - and all that remains is an overwhelming sense of gratitude. Thank you for being apart of my family, each and every one of you.

Bouncepaw smiled at Fawnlight. She was a great medicine cat. His blue eyes were filled with happiness and joy. He was proud to be apart of her ‘family’
