Windystar wasn’t a headstrong, stubborn feline. He considered himself to be reasonable and fair, especially when it came to his Clan. And this feline comes in with no prior knowledge whatsoever of Clan life or any Clans (that he knew of), asking him to fill a role that was empty? How could she have known this? Obviously her escort didn’t. In fact, he was a little bit outdated on the high ranks... never mind that. The feline spoke, "Okay. Let’s say this is a sign from StarClan. But why should I trust you? What do you know about healing? Can you help me take care of this Clan?" he nearly whispered the last question, his fragile voice catching in his throat. He needed someone like Daydream. Someone who knew how to take care of the Clan, how to work with the leaders. Windystar was currently the most experienced high rank in ShadowClan. But he had only a few seasons worth compared to Daydream or Grousestar. How could he do this?

(Sorry this post might be short and poorly written, I kinda have a lot to do at the moment but I wanna keep this moving)

"What would you do without a medicine cat. I am many moons older than you and I am better than no cat at all." She sat down with her tail curled around her paws. "I am sorry that you seemed like you relied on the medicine cat before but the fact of the matter is that whoever that was is gone. I can tell by the way you talk and have been saying things. Leaving the position open, from my understanding, is a bad idea. I may not know much but I don't think trained medicine cats pop up like groundhogs. I can learn and on top of that, I have an interest in it and I know a few things. I can't understand the circumstances on why you would deny me, but I think we can both agree that laving such a vital part of a clan open is dangerous, and foolish when you have cats to fill the position." Her voice came out smooth and steadily but still soft in a way.

At this, Windystar became a little more guarded. He was a bit upset that this cat just waltzed into camp, very nearly declaring herself medicine cat. He was willing to work with her, maybe she was the cat he needed. But she was talking like she was in charge. It just felt... honestly, it felt like she was disregarding him, and he didn’t like how that felt. She talked so smoothly and so much about everything spiraling around in his mind that he didn’t know where to start. "Agave, you have to understand this. I am the leader, and what I say, goes." The leader took a breath, steadying his wavering voice, calming his emotion, and sowing his racing thoughts. "I realize that you would be happy to take on this position. I realize that you have some knowledge. But a huge part of being a medicine cat is knowing and caring about your Clanmates." Windystar narrowed his dull eyes and went on. "I’m willing to give you a chance. But you must use this to prove to me that I made the right choice."

"and I will," she responded simply, not wanting to argue anymore. She had grown tired of the younger cats additude and her patience had already worn out. All she wished for now was a meal and a nap. "I'm sorry I was so forward with you-" she mewed, cutting herself off before she could say anything that might void her appology.

Spiderleap steadily watched Hexict, his unblinking eyes focused on every twitch of the whisker and shift of muscle to sense the cat's motives as well as he was able. He looked like a cat that, at present, would be more comfortable with moving to inspect something rather than have that something inspect them; an aspect he could readily agree with. "They are very young," the tom offered up lowly, upon the kit's question. "They've not yet learned to speak, it may take them a while yet." Reaching out with a paw, he attempted to lightly pull the tumbling Sparrowkit closer to himself. It was not a scolding action, more of a calm, unspoken statement of 'stop slapping the other kitten's face, you hooligan.'

"Not yet," Spiderleap admitted, with a slightly heavy air. He'd misjudged Smokekit's age, it seemed, but moons did not appear as numbers upon the pelt; so the warrior evidently had made a mistake. The confused look upon Smokekit's face described that fairly aptly, and he was left to consider that reaction. Withdrawing his paw, whether or not he managed to draw the male kit closer to himself, he'd then lightly bap at the cat's hindquarters with the pads of his toes. An attempt to keep the more active kit entertained. Head lowered to rasp a tongue across the top of Asterkit's head, giving her a bit of light grooming, and probably forcing the fur to stick up a little. "I will be here for them if she is not."

Sparrowkit was unamused by his father's attempt to draw him back and even more annoyed when he touched him with his paws, and so he leapt away and, very dizzily, dashed back to Smokekit, coming to a wobbly halt a few mouse-lengths away. He then proceeded to wrap his forepaws loosely around the older kit's foreleg, place his hind paws against the gray shin, and wrap his jaws in his fur. The attack really did not hurt and would not hold, but if Smokekit were to lift his forepaw he would be surprised to find that Sparrowkit had a sturdy enough grip not to come tumbling to the ground.

The tom-kit glanced back down at Sparrowkit as the kit's father explained that they were too young to talk. "They can't speak...?" He titled his head to the side as he thought about this. The tom had planned on playing with the kits but now that he knew that they were too young to even speak, he wondered if they would even be old enough to play around with him. Smokekit was not nearly as rough as some of his litter-mates - especially Halekit - but he was sure that he would still be a bit rough with new kits. Still, the black and grey tom offered Sparrowkit a playful smile and even smiled at the small she-kit still in the nest when she mewed. "What are their names?" The small tom chirped.

He turned back to Spiderleap when he spoke of the kits' mother not being being present. "Where is she?" Curiosity glinted in his ice blue gaze.

Sparrowkit clambered up Smokekit and latched his claws in the tom's coat, then fell with a thump to the ground. He rolled over and blinked his eyes, flustered, letting out a little squeak. He wiped his face with a paw. "Spar...Sparrowkit!" he squealed, eyes dazzling.

[ I am not going to be on much because this is finals week for me ]

Asterkit's wide blue eyes met Sparrowkit's as he looked and smiled at her. She offered a small tentative smile back before letting out a senseless mew. A movement from her brother caught her gaze as he tumbled around the older kit, his tiny claws pulling at the other's fur. Wanting to try it for herself, Asterkit decided to copy him. Standing up on wobbly legs, the small she-kit took a hesitant step forward. As she did so, Asterkit toppled to the side, falling ungracefully against Spiderleg's tail. Still determined to reach Sparrowkit and Smokekit, Asterkit stood up and tried once again to pad over to the other two kittens, but again, he wobbly legs couldn't carry her more than a paw step before she lost her balance and fell to the side. She gave a small sigh. How did her brother make walking over to Smokekit seem so effortless?

A blue russian maine coon mix walked into the clearing with a couple of Shadowclan warriors. She had waited out in the territory for a clan cat to spot her instead of just barging into the camp. The molly looked around the clearing to see if she could spot Windystar. She had gotten a description of him from a couple of Rogues. She had found out about the clans a couple moons before and felt she would fit in well. That is if she's accepted. Weather sat down and politely waited for the Shadowclan leader to come over to talk with her.
