Sage stopped and looked at him. “Nonsense!” He barked, defending Navy against, well, Navy. After a split second he stepped in front of him to force him to stop walking. Now in front of him, he attempted to look at him in the eyes.

“You are useful Navy. Let nothing nor no one tell you otherwise. Do you understand?” He asked firmly, on the outside he was strict and rather, scary, if you will. While as of now, you could describe him as a gentle flower, trying not to wilt in the cold harsh breeze known as life. He was doing an excellent job of hiding his feelings, he was hurt to think his..his friend thought such a thing.

When he stopped to listen to Sage, he smiled, laughing after his words.
"You see that right there is what I'm talking about. You are the only one who would tell me that. " He said walking around him. "Come on, let's just get this patrol done with. " He began walking again with the patrol they were assigned with.

Sage looked at him, not know what to say. He saw the wolf in front of him sway into the distance.

If had been three days, Shadow felt like he was back to his top form and Taka had finally released him.

Sunset, who had spent most of her time in the She-wolf’s den, had a few other wolves check in here and there, most were males, looking for the only other female of the pack. Whenever they spoke to her, she kept her responses short and sweet, showing them she had no interest in them. Sage came over a couple of times, once they both fell asleep, him curled around her. She didn’t think of him as a fellow wolf, or as a mate. She thought of him as a father figure-regardless of his past actions. She knew he still loved her but he respected her now. Once they had a conversation. She told him how she felt about him, and she could remember his words like they were yesterday. ”Being a father figure to you is the best role i could ever hope to be.”

She could practically hear the hurt in his voice, but she knew he would get over it. However, his visits had slowed down, and eventually stopped. He seemed so..distant, whenever they talked. She sighed as another male wolf came to visit, she knew that he was looking to impress her. Being the only female-suitable for having pups, was annoying. Before he could say a word she growled, a ‘no’. He looked shocked at first, then furious. He stomped out of the den, and she watched, Not feeing a thing, as his figure stomped into the forest.

‘I wonder when Shadow will be able to come back..’ She didn’t like leaving the den, it felt uncomfortable since most of the males would just sit and stare, sometimes the pesky alpha himself. She would rather stay inside then have to deal with that. Sage was her food supplier, now he hasn’t visited her for a day, and she was starting to get real hungry, however her stubbornness kept her from leaving.
