"Let's mark the border first!" Bluegorse suggested but didn't wait for their answer, already rubbing against the foliage, rocks, trees-- anything dotting the line.

"Once we're done, we can spend the rest of our time tracking it, and hopefully we can drive it off."

"Okay, I just hope it hasn't gotten to close to the camp." Hazel paw stated before going to Mark the border

Dawnblossom suddenly showed up to the border, out of breath. "Sorry I'm late! I hope I didn't miss anything important..."

(sorry for that, since i adopted this cat, there's been some mention issues. i didn't get the mention for the patrol starting.)

A sudden noise alerted Blizzardspark, and he paused in his marking to glance over at the source: Dawnblossom. Disinterest swept over his features. "Took you long enough."

In response to her comment, he added, "Just that there's a fox lingering 'round here."

Bluegorse finished marking his portion and beamed at Dawnblossom. "Glad you could make it! Sorry for taking over, you weren't in the clearing and I wanted us to be able to finish it in time.." he flattened his ears back apologetically.

"There's a fox in the area but we're far enough from camp to where it probably won't find it.. but, that's why we're driving it out!"

Bluegorse padded away from the border to scent the air, trying to catch a trail. "Once you're done, I think we should stay together-- it smells like it's heading toward the treeline. There might be a den nearby."

Dawnblossom glanced at Blizzardspark, wondering why he had seemed so aggressive at first. Must've woken up on the wrong side of the nest... she thought.

She nodded in understanding as Bluegorse gave further information. "Alright, thanks for informing me. We'll meet up here when we're all done again then!" With that said, she continued on to a more distant part of the border to refresh the scent-lines.

Well, Bluegorse kind of wished that Dawnblossom acknowledged the fox situation, but.. it is what it is.

Letting her mark her end, he trotted toward the trees to follow the scent of fox toward where he believed the den might be. It didn't take him long to find it.. and the snarling fox itself!

"Fox!" he yelled out, narrowly dodging the canine as it lunged toward him with snapping teeth.

Now this was much more interesting than Dawnblossom! Blizzardspark had been following loosely behind Bluegorse when he announced the fox.

As Bluegorse dodged, he gave a wide berth to the fox and bounded around it. Hopefully it was distracted by the other warrior long enough for him to get in its blind spot. Without any hesitation, Blizzardspark lunged at the beast, aiming to strike along its flank.

Getting back from marking the border, Dawnblossom was unaware of any issue until she heard the yowling of her clanmates. Running over to see what the problem was, she was shocked to see Blizzardspark and Bluegorse battling it out with a fox.

Maybe I should've taken Bluegorse's report with more care... Oh well, now's not the time to think about it! She rushed swiftly towards the fox, aiming to bite the neck. When an opening appeared, she latched on with a strong grasp. However, she was unable to keep hold as it swung around, throwing her off.

When his Clanmates did nothing, he flicked his tail. Deerblossom narrowed his eyes at them. The tom got ready to leave.
