Claws sunk deep into the slush snow until it pierced the cold ground lifting the dirt. She lashed her tail, growling. No cat takes her seriously during battles! Even fully grown the she-cat is still a size of an apprentice and it's understandable why cats overlook her. Whatever. The calico grunted at Icestar, dark gaze shadowed by an emotion before turning around to head out. She has no interest of joining a patrol right now, her anger was bubbling so a solo hunting should cool her nerves and feed her clanmates.

Falconpaw had slithered into the back of the crowd, a non-participant of the battle but at least he had an excuse: he did not know how to fight yet.

He admired the other toms for their boldness, but not their lack of intelligence. For once, he agreed with the emotionally inclined she-cat.. these two were useless. "If you did your best, why did you not fight..? Are you a she-kit beneath all that mouthy-ness and fur? No proud tom would be reduced to crying at their leader about how unfair things are when you did not lift a paw to help."

Thistlepaw sat in the back of the space and rolled her eyes as all the cats argued and bickered. She sighed and looked out at the woods. There were more productive things that she could be doing right now. All Icestar has to do was yell what she wanted cats to do and dismiss the meeting. A leader like her aught to be above bantering with cats who talked back. Though Thistle was surprised with all these cats that were arguing about how they were useful when they couldn't even defend the clan as well as some apprentices. She snickered at the absolute mess the clan was currently in.

Her eyes drifted through the crowd of cats, she hoped to find and see if Dawnstrip was alright. It her new mentor was seriously injured and she was out of luck for some good training once again she would be frustrated. Thistlepaw's long dilute calico fur ruffled as she watched silently with angry golden eyes.

Dawnstripe limped her away from the meeting as soon as it was dismissed, her eyes swept around in search of Thunderhowl. She needed her shoulder popped back in, the bite on her leg looked at, along with the scratches on her belly. Her shoulder is the worst of her wounds, she didn't like the idea of sitting in the medicine cat's den when there was work to get done and she had two apprentices that still needed training. The faster she got looked over the quicker she could get back to work.

Ravenheart's glare did not die down as the she-cat dared to respond. "Because my father can barely hold his own weight, walking from the elder's den to the middle of camp is even a challenge for him, you should know better than try to think I'm trying to find an excuse, of course I'd help my father if the one who was assigned to do it DID NOT, if you think I'd leave the one who raised me my whole life behind, then you're wrong." Willowpaw bounded after Ravenheart as he slipped into the territory. "Ravenheart! Ravenheart, please wait!" she felt a simmering anger towards Icestar for insulting Ravenheart so cruelly, so openly. She managed to catch up to him, and when she reached him, she slipped to his side, laying her tail over his back in a comforting manner. She stretched her neck up to lick his cheek.
"Don't listen to that brute...," she murmured, then paused. "Well, she's the leader, so I guess you do need to do as she says, but... you shouldn't let her get to you. She's just a big bully. She takes pleasure in hurting others, but if you let her get to you, then it means she's won. However, if you stay tall and proud and keep doing what you believe is right, it means you've won, because you didn't let her hurt you." she gazed at him with her sweet blue eyes. "Okay?"

The tabby wiggled his nose as their noses touched, and he gave the warrior a good look over. So far he didn't seem like a total push over, which was wonderful. "As soon as possible." he said blankly the second the other tom finished. Than the tom frowned, which made him quirk his brows. What? Had he already done something to annoy the older tom?

Cardinalpaw wasn't expecting Burnetsnap to bring up Frostfall. It made his blood boil, and it didn't help that it seemed as though his new mentor was babying him. So with a huff he lashed his tail "Of course I'm still standing who do you think I am? I barely even got to fight that no good excuse of a Deputy! One of the stinking warriors butt in, but oh boy when I meet her again I'm gonna tear out her other eye. How dare she inturrupt a battle!" he snapped, his fur fluffing up as he remembered what exactly went down. "She scared him off and he went and fought Beastspark I think. I was beyond angry! The Fox Heart ran away!"

Who do I think you are? thought Burnetsnap. You're nothing compared to a deputy. He didn't have the chance to say that, though, since Cardinalpaw got upset. Probably wouldn't have been a good thing to say, anyway, if he was already so worked up about it. He chuckled at the apprentice's outburst—they had a common enemy. "Don't worry about that one-eyed she-cat—I cut her up pretty badly. Don't think she'll be out and about for a while," he replied, stretching his claws into the dirt. Anger bubbled up inside him at the thought of Stonedance (or whatever she was called) taking the blow for that stupid apprentice, but he tried not to think about it.

"I'll make sure to train you well enough so that the next time you meet her, you can do just that," he meowed. Burnetsnap sat back down, looking at Cardinalpaw. He seemed strong enough. Thank StarClan I don't have one of those lazy good-for-nothings as an apprentice. Who knows what I'd do then? "We'll start with battle training tomorrow. I want to see how much that old mentor of yours taught you."

It was embarrassing that Ravenheart was still talking to Icestar after she had made herself clear about where he stood on this issue. Snowpeach cringed from the interaction, from his demonstrated stubbornness that made him more of a liability than someone to count on. "Are you deaf? Icestar just said which cats were actually helping, and I don't think you were on that list, Ravenheart. This isn't an attack on your character, this is reality." Since he seemed thickheaded and too caught up on a false sense of nobility, she said it nice and slow for him: "Your clanmates were fighting their asses off, and you briefly showed up for a whisker to escort one elder. It sounds more like you were escaping your duties than actually trying to be helpful to anybody. You didn't fight, you didn't come back until it was over, all you're doing is causing us to be ashamed that we share a clan with such a mouse hearted fool."

Snowpeach merely shook her head at Willowpaw, naive and clueless to the true nature of this warrior who was blatantly selfish. "You're a sweet lass. Don't waste your words on someone who didn't care to defend you when he had the chance, dearie. If he wants to think it's right to barely show his face around here when it counts then have the audacity to argue with our leader, I suggest believing him when he shows his stupidity."

Ravenheart looked over at his apprentice as she slipped in to his side and, to be honest, having her by his side made him feel better, she was an amazing apprentice. Just like her, he felt anger towards his leader, if she had been given the choice to either fight or take her father to safety, what in the name of StarClan would she have done?! He was a little surprised to feel her tongue against his cheek, something that raerly ever happened, he wasn't usually a big fan of physical contact, but when it was her... It felt as if there was never enough. The tom looked over at his apprentice and met her blue gaze before he gave a nod. "You're right, Willowpaw." He mewed and nuzzled the top of her head, he probably had the best apprentice he could've been assigned, she was simply amazing.

As Ravenheart nuzzled her head, she purred and twined her tail with his. However, when Snowpeach's voice spoke up behind her, she stiffened and was about to turn and defend him when the other warrior spoke. Yes, he may have not fought, and he may have only escorted one elder, but that didn't make him a bad cat. Don't we all make mistakes?, she thought, still frowning as she listened to Snowpeach. However, the warrior said something that really caught her attention: "You're a sweet lass. Don't waste your words on someone who didn't care to defend you when he had the chance, dearie."
She felt uncertain now. Her mentor hadn't showed up to protect her. Did that really mean he didn't care? Torn between loyalty towards her mentor and the uncertainty of what Snowpeach had said, Willowpaw started feeling overwhelmed. Why hadn't Ravenheart protected her? She was so confused. Was her mentor really as selfish as Snowpeach was saying?
