"Eheh, sorry I just got a little excited. My emotions got the better of me." Adderpaw said before she gave Seabreeze a head bump.

Then Fadingsun began to speak again and she wasn't really sure why that was directed to her. She didn't actually do anything to anyone. All she said is that she would be willing to help give out punishments, meaning to those who were already given them. Not a word did she speak to these other cats making a show of themselves. It didn't matter Fadingsun could be wrong on that part and it wouldn't effect Adderpaw in any way. All she gave was a disapproving look.

Then there it was, finally an actual medicine cat! It had been so long since they had an official medicine cat she was starting to get worried. Trust wasn't strong with all the other cats trying to be one and she was close to just treating all her wounds on her own.

"Congratulations Mistyshard!" She cheered out for them. "You'll do great things!"

Fawnlight - Former RiverClan Medicine Cat

Good. Now that the decision had been made, Fawnlight turned to look at her sister. Stars, how much she had missed her. "You're going to do wonderful, sister." Her voice was soft as the former medicine cat leaned forward to nuzzle her. She knew she wouldn't have long to appear, but hopefully Mistyshard could feel her presence, see her, before she left. "I'll be right next to you, every step." She would do what she should've done for Stonepaw; be there.

Then, after a moment, Fawnlight stepped back. There were other things happening, and she took a moment to look around at her Clan. Whether they saw her or not... Briefly her blue eyes landed on Birdsnow, and they softened. She dipped her head to the former leader, eyes glimmering in nothing more than respect and love. They lifted then to Minkpaw and Cobwebpaw, two cats who had been helping. She hoped they would understand... why she couldn't let any younger cats take this role. Why she couldn't let anymore young lives be ruined. She offered them both a smile.

"I'll see you later. Keep the Clan safe for me..." Fawnlight murmured once she looked back towards Mistyshard. Then, with a soft breeze, her starry figure disappeared as quick as it had come.

And, see? That was precisely the reason Wrenpaw was holding her tongue. She didn't want to get thrown out and miss information. What a bunch of idiot, speaking out against something the disagree with despite the ample warning that was no longer to be tolerated at meetings. Wrenpaw didn't like it as much as the next cat, but she's not moronic enough to say so.

There was better news to be had, though - if you cared about that sort of thing - because Mistyshard was announced as medicine cat. Wooo, yay, who really cares!!!! Not Wrenpaw!! Genuinely, was there anything actually important to discuss? If there wasn't, then Wren might just leave now... she could be using this time to train or do, like... anything else.

Bubblekite padded back into camp, only one, pitiful, limp water vole captive in his maw from a bad hunt.

His ears twitched with a small wave of worry and surprise, as he peeked his head in through the entrance; a meeting was quite clearly going on.

He quickly dropped off his vole in the fresh-kill pile, and sat down in sight of the Floodstone, suddenly dropping his gaze to the ground in fervent humiliation - missing half a meeting over a singular vole was not a great thing to do.

Bubblekite's ears were slowly beginning to flatten, as they now just began to bring itself to awareness of the turmoil of opinions of the Clan.

He caught a snippet about Birdsnow stepping down as leader.

He took a full ten seconds to process that, before it finally, actually clicked.

Most of the cats seemed mad at Birdsnow, which for some "really" weird reason he couldn't understand with his apparently imagination-adapted brain.



He suddenly recalled cats chanting names from when he was paused in the entrance, and a few words of Fadingsun appointing Lionhearts.

He cleared his throat, and started chanting and cheering the new Lionhearts, but by now it was pretty late for it.

"Seabreeze! Owltalon!"

His ears perked, and his chanting grew less confident, as Fadingsun ordered the new Lionhearts to escort two warriors out of camp until the meeting was over.

His chanting soon died down to a small whisper, and then it faded into nothingness.

But the next round of news was better, a new Medicine cat, a thing the Clan had been without for a good while.

He quickly went back to cheering, he had no idea if it even was the right time to cheer, but he didn't care, cheering was the only thing on his mind right now, since it made people happy, including himself.

"Mistyshard! Mistyshard!"

minkpaw turned her head away from the crowd, rainpaw heavy against her side and did her best to bite back the tears burning in the corners of her eyes. "lets go rainpaw" she murmured, attempting to steady her voice, one last hurray before she left the medicine den behind her forever. doubt weighed her down, all the time she wasted, all the time she wasted doing something she would never be recognised for. she sucked in a sharp breath, whole body trembling as she bit down in her best effort to keep it together for just one more moment.
the faint starry outline of the cat moved in her peripheral vision and her gaze rested on the spirit for a moment before she averted her gaze, silent tears falling to the ground, she offered the spirit no more recognition.
the few tail lengths to the medicine den felt agonisingly long, shoulders shaking periodically and her gaze seemingly glued to her own front paws. upon reaching the den entrance she stepped away from rainpaw after letting him settle, still refusing to look at anyone, "i suppose this is where our ways part. get well soon, rainpaw." she mewed quietly, voice shaky and words interrupted by her irregular breathing, before turning to get as much space as possible between her and everyone. the clearing felt too small, every cat seemed to be observing her, watching her every move as she stood frozen for a moment, no movement besides uncontrollable shaking, before bolting out of camp. body wrecked by sobs she ran, mind rushing and tears blurring her one eye to a point of no longer recognising the world infront of her.
she felt ashamed for leaving rainpaw at the den entrance, ashamed for running away, but most importantly, ashamed of failing.

Wouldn't be a Riverclan meeting without chaos, as sad as that was. Seabreeze smiled as the apprentice took it well. The warr-lionheart listened as Redmire's escort was ordered then Fadingsun continued to explain what Seabreeze had kind of said to Adderpaw to some others including the Dusklion which made sense given what the feline just said. Then came his first order, escorting Riverwhisper from the meeting. Seabreeze was on his paws in a flash and made his way over to the disruptive tom and he kept his voice low, "Come on then, try not to disrupt anymore please." The lionheart spoke to the warrior and motioned for the tom to follow him out of the meeting. With Riverwhisper at his side, Seabreeze began to lead the camp out of the meeting, a bit mournful that he wouldn't be able to hear as well but hopefully he'll catch the more important bits from outside.

Fadingsun addressed some of the other issues that had procured in just moments and then as his paws made it to the exit he was able to overhear the next important thing. Mistyshard was now their official medicine cat. As he was out of the camp, Seabreeze took a deep breath. Everything was fine, this meeting was going to be chaotic no matter what so this was expected. Fadingsun is doing fine with damage control and with Mistyshard he won't be completely alone in leading the camp. He found himself relieved that Mistyshard was medicine cat, the feline was reliable and loyal which should be a low bar but in this camp, it unfortunately wasn't. Everything is fine. "Mistyshard!" He gave a small cheer though he knew it wouldn't be heard. The lionheart made a note to fully congratulate Mistyshard as soon as he was able to.

Seabreeze then gave his undivided attention to Riverwhisper.

The brown she-cat flicked her gaze back to Redmire. Thank you, Fadingsun. she thought as she glanced up at the Floodstone. She didn't deserve a second go at things, and yet she got it. That was enough to slightly lift the embarrassment that tinted her cheeks and bristled her fur.

She padded cooly up to Redmire. "C'mon then, let's go." She nodded at the warrior. She was willing to start fresh even if they weren't. While it was very likely the two of them would never get along, they also didn't have to be fighting all of the time either. She'd rather be frenemies than bloodthirsty clanmates who held nothing but grudges for each other.

She flashed Mistyshard an encouraging smile. "Congratulations! You'll do well, I promise." She whispered quietly as she swiftly made her way to the deeper parts of Riverclan territory.

She glanced behind her every few seconds to make sure that Redmire was close...

Oh, god, Fallenwish had done it again. Why couldn't she just shut up for once? She knew Fadingsun the Lionhearts could handle Redmire, but when they spoke, it pained her in the head to listen to it, and the only thing she could think to do was respond to it. "Sorry."

She had never truthfully met Birdsnow or paid attention to what she was doing. If she hadn't stepped down, she would have defended her, but now all she could see was the good points being made. From then onward, she would swear that any high rank would have to be observed by her with complete logic before she would ever give anyone a royal title.

What about Fadingsun? He had a hold on the clan. He was right. But no, not yet. At least a moon, probably.

She turned around the clearing at the mention of a medicine cat. She kept saying that she knew it wouldn't be her, but she wanted it. She hoped for it. She'd be lost without it. While observing the meeting she noticed a Starclan cat.

Why couldn't Starclan do anything with her? She didn't know anyone dead besides her parents and Poisonberry. Why wouldn't her parents visit her?Was she not good enough for them? It was fair to say that.

She had expected it, but that didn't stop it from hurting. She shouldn't have been hurt. She was trying to get attention in her own mind. She was a disappointment to herself. She knew she couldn't and Mistyshardwas a great choice. She was still jealous. She wouldn't say anything, though. That would be petty.

"Nice, Mistyshard!" She said, smiling. She hid all emotions.

oh starclan. that hurt. that hurt so bad. cobwebpaw managed a trembling smile at fawnlight before her eyes spilled over with tears. she mumbled a quick ' congratulations ' to mistyshard, then turned away. she barely heard her clanmates' cheering under the loud ringing in her ears. of course she was crying. only babies cried over getting something they barely even worked for.

the ache in her chest got worse and she snuck a glance at minkpaw. then she left. quivering, she sat outside of the clearing, in the apprentice's den. cobwebpaw slumped down, burying her head down in her paws.

Blizzardpaw felt her heart sting when Fadingsun addressed Reedmire, Dusklion, Fallenwish, Alderpaw, and a bunch of others including herself. But what made her heart hurt more was how he addressed Birdsnow. She felt heavily bad for the former Windclan leader. Hopefully Birdsnow isn't too hurt about all the insults... She hated seeing anyone unhappy, no matter what they did or in this case, did not do. Overall, these past moons have been cruel to everyone. Including Birdsnow. She bowed her head apologetically towards Fadingsun. "I'm sorry, I'll keep my thoughts to myself until after the meeting next time."

Her eyes drifted over to Mistyshard. Smiling brightly once again, she let out a high-pitched squeak in their direction. "Congrats Mistyshard! I wish you the best on your medicine cat journey." She tried her best to sound formal. Trying to drift away from the thought of her clear mistake. She had heard some other cat start cheering, so she cheered herself. "Mistyshard! Owltalon! Seabreeze!"
