"We're going to get caught." Lilypaw hissed. She thought about Rowankit. He was so tiny when she first saw him. He was probably a lot bigger now.

Near the border, a lone Thunderclan cat stood. He appeared to be searching for something, his paws making frantic little circles in the dirt as he looked. The dust he kicked up landed on his pure white pelt, somewhat muting his ghostly appearance, but he didn't seem to care all that much.

Come on, come on...

He knew there was one around here somewhere. He knew it.

Why else would a place be called Herondive Hollow?

The tom continued his mission, unfaltered as he scrabbled in the ground. Every once in awhile, he would shift his digging site, but still-

No luck.

Hollowdream sat back on his haunches and sighed.

If only I hadn't lost my favorite feather...

His favorite feather had been the only heron one in his collection. It felt so soft when he ran his paws over it, and yet it was different than the down of a bird. It was also the perfect shape and size- not to mention the smell!

Oh, how he missed that feather.

But it seems there aren't any around here.

He got up to go, glancing around one last time.

Wait.

His eyes had caught on something- a feather, just across the border!

Surely no one will mind if I only reach a paw over...

But just as he was about to cross, a voice called out to him.

She'd.. never been out alone. This was odd.. hm. Drowning in her thoughts, she barely noticed the cat at the border until she saw them reach over. She snapped back to reality and called out to the cat at the border. Wait, what was she doing?! If the cat came over, she wouldn't be able to do anything! Oh, forget it. ..It'd be nice to make a friend anyways. Darkpaw approached the border, "Uhm, hi!" She gave the Thunderclan cat a grin and sat down across from them. She hoped they.. were, well, friendly. She'd met her share of unfriendly ones..

Hollowdream looked up, startled.

Oh.

It was a Shadowclan cat- a she-cat, by the smell of it. And about the size of an apprentice, too.

If neccesary, she'd be easy to take down...

Quickly, without breaking eye contact, the tom flicked the feather of to his side of the border.

"This feather is mine. I saw it first."

He didn't think the apprentice would try to steal it, but still, better safe than sorry- and he would be very sorry if he lost the feather.

It was a mystery to him why no other cats loved feathers like he did. Could they not appreciate their delicate softess? Or perhaps they disliked the tingly feeling they gave when you ran them through your paw-pads?

Personally, Hollowdream loved that feeling.

maybe wolfwhisper was a bit annoyed that the other two cats on the patrol were kinda nowhere to be seen. which means he had to do this patrol alone! wolfwhisper HATED being alone!

so as the tom trekked towards the border, he was grumpily mumbling under his breath. he was tired. VERY. tired. at least with a patrol wolfwhisper had a chance to make conversation to keep his thoughts for running about. life was boring at the moment with no recent discoveries and wolfwhisper felt very lonely. which means the shadows were more persistent than usual.

'course to wolfwhisper's relief, he eventually reached the border of thunderclan, herondive hollow.

he simply did what finchwhisper said, checked out the markers. looked around for any strange things -- he did infact find a strange smell but besides that, the border was decent so wolfwhisper remarked it and returned back to camp.
