He stalked off back in the direction they came. If Frozenbaby wanted to be a pain, she was free to - he would be happy to tell the Clan a hawk came and plucked her away.

Foxblaze padded behind Sootflare, “Woe, This place is cool!” she said scampering ahead and looking around with wide eyes.

Petuniapaw did not realize this patrol was for hunting... So, as she walked with Sassafrasfire her mind wondered and she began taking in the territory around her. There was a lot of flowers in some places... Ones she's never seen. Petunia didn't know what they were but they were pretty. Wondering over to a few the apprentice would pick some before bouncing back over to Mister Ms. Sassyfire.
They would walk a while more before they stopped. "Do you know what these are?" She asked through the stims. Her nose wrinkling as the juices dripped down her throat. They did not taste good! "They smell nice and are really pretty but tastes offal!" Petuniapaw added sitting them down. The taste almost burned her mouth.
Her ears folded back slightly as she noticed she had interrupted her mentor. "Sorry..." She apologized. That was not nice of her. Taking a few moments she took in all the scents and sounds. There was a bunch. "Trees, wind, flowers, birds, umm grass, bugs, squirrel I think..." Petuinapaw decided. "Mister Ms. Sassyfire… my belly hurts now." She added in a mumble. Maybe those flowers were bad? Did flowers go bad? She didn't know but now she had a bellyache...

[Note, the flower she picked was one of the many toxic flowers to cats, I'm to lazy to research which would be found in Maine so I'm not gonna say which flower. She isn't getting to sick as she just got enough juices from the stim to upset her stomach]

Hmmmph! Fine! Frozenpaw didn't need him, she was capable of sitting in Lionsrange all by herself. Plus, they'd just arrived--why was Lionfatter so eager to go already? Things were going well! Stick bug! She scuffed a paw at the ground to kick up a cloud of dust in her annoyance, pouting. Dead set on proving she didn't need his dumb help, Frozenpaw stuck her tongue out at Lionstar's disappearing figure, then rose to her paws to start preparations for making her own den. No sharing with the other apprentices, no snoring to have to deal with. This would be a new RiverClan, a better one!

They couldn't tell her before it was already too late and she'd plucked them up. But telling Petuniapaw not to pick a flower seemed a little silly, anyway. Sassafrasfire watches her with dismay. "Yes," they say quietly.
The cat was just a little bit dejected, and that was something they had no idea how to express or name. But the droop in their tail and the lull in their voice seemed real enough. "Should we go back?" they ask her, not really thinking of escorting her to see Otterstone but instead imagining their leader's mocking or disappointment. They really didn't want to be placed on the "I'm sad you of all cats let me down like this so no more chances for you, unless you really prove your worth to me," list. Would they be exiled instead? "Go be useless somewhere else, like ShadowClan." Sassafrasfire blinks and gives their head a shake, shaking away the absurd thoughts. Their apprentice was feeling ill and all they could think about was themselves.
The warrior steps over to her side and lifts a paw, giving her a light pat on the back. "You've come a long way, Petuniapaw, but we were not out for a nice walk and a night off. You should really begin to think about what you're doing. I have to bring you back to the Clan empty-pawed, and explain to Lionstar that my apprentice got distracted and picked a flower." Pausing, the feline stares at her just quietly, wondering what she was thinking yet not going so far as "You should be capable of thinking of these things by now. to ask. "
They probably chided her enough now. And although they could have gone on, it would have been unfair. Sassafrasfire gives their apprentice a nudge back in the direction that they'd come. "Go on. Let's go home." Now, they just had to think of what they'd tell their leader.

The walk to Lionsrange was a long one and Sootflare was glad they had left early on in the morning as the sun was reaching its pinnacle by the time they arrived. He glanced back to make sure Foxblaze was keeping up but otherwise didn't say much. "It's... okay." he replied as he glanced around, "It can be pretty dangerous so we have to be careful. SkyClan used to live here but the coyotes and eagles have been more active since they left."

"In fact, I think there's a nest up there." he meowed, gesturing up the cliffside, "Just keep your eyes out, ok?"

Foxblaze smiled, “Okie dokie, this place is pretty cool, why’d they leave?” She asked curiously as she sniffed around.

"They always had problems with the wildlife and in the end, they just... didn't have the numbers to defend themselves anymore." he replied, offering a small shrug, "We really should get to hunting. It's going to be a long walk back."

Foxblaze nodded, she felt bad for the Skyclan but she was happy thy found a better place nonetheless. “But I’m really bad at hunting...” Foxblaze whispered to herself.

Sootflare didn't catch Foxblaze's whisper and began to slink off on his own. The area at first glance would seem barren - rocky and bland with the occasional scruffy brush peeking out of the ground of various cliff-faces - but a keen eye and ear would be helpful in spotting the birds flitting about the trees and various burrows that small ground animals would shelter in. He crept on for a while in search of a fresh scent.
