She shifted her body in a more obvious way so that Scorchpaw had a visual to go with the explanation. Her steps her soundless as she crept around the perimeter, tail low, but never brushing the ground. When she reached a certain spot where the shade of a tree could hid them from view she turned to wait for the apprentice expectantly.

Scorchpaw gave an excited wave of his tail at her approval, bouncing on his paws a little bit. He wanted so much to speak and exclaim all his thoughts as they went through this, but he remained quiet, knowing he might scare off their target if he opened his mouth.

Green eyes wide, he watched carefully as Rosedapple demonstrated how to walk, keeping her steps light and even. Scorchpaw then crouched low to the ground, tail flicking behind him as he readied himself to creep across the ground. He took his time, making sure each step was slow and placed perfectly. Rosedapple never mentioned how much time he should take, right? So Scorchpaw assumed he could take all the time he needed to creep over to where she was. One he reached her, he glanced up and gave her an excited smile. "How was that?" He whispered, leaning closer as if that would help him be even quieter. It didn't, but it was worth a try.

Thornpaw gave up looking for him. She dropped her gaze to her paws. She stared at them, her eyes full of boredom. She wondered when she was going to start training again. Her tail twitched in annoyance. Magpiepaw never wanted to hang out with her.

Sparrowpaw tipped her head back in a spluttering, drawn-out laugh. "You really think you can get away with this?" she challenged, her rough voice hardening. She grabbed the mouse-brained kit briskly in her jaws and began hauling back to the front of the assemblage. Her jaw clenched angrily as she jerked her head to face Yarrowkit once she had dropped him back to the ground. "After this meeting," she growled, "I'm bringing you to Icestar."

Rosedapple nodded.

"Wonderful. remember that stance, you can take all the time you need if there are no outside forces pushing you to rush." She flicks her ear to the squirrel then.

"Now we are behind your target. The goal is to get as close as you can before it is alerted to your presence. Understand that, and you're one step closer to finding the perfect time to take an enemy off guard and land a killing blow."

Wonderful!" the calico's thoughts derailed for a second as Icestar's name for their young medicine cat clicked in her frazzled mind. Catching herself in a smile for her friend though, she cleared her throat consciously.

"I mean, should I bring Ravenvine's body to Irisflame before setting him out for his friends and family?"

"Place him in the clearing for his family to mourn him, but tell Irisflame about it," Icestar instructed, glancing at the fallen warrior. A loss of a clanmate of any kind was a tragedy. "She'll have to get him cleaned up for his vigil."

Honeypaw sighed and flipped down in his nest. He was bored, his friends were StarClan knows where. He rested his chin on his paws and stared out.

Thornpaw stoood up and left for the apprentice's den. Maybe her friends were in there. She paused outside for a moment to double check if Magpirpaw was there. When there was no sign of him, she padded into the den.
