"Come on, Croakingkit!" Calling for his brother, Ribbitkit eagerly bounded towards the fresh-kill pile. His plan was to eat and then play a game. Eyeing the pile, he picked out a rather large mouse for him and his brother to share. Sitting down a couple tail-lengths away, he waited for his brother to approach.

Sparrowpaw couldn't help but cringe at the small tom's wobbly retort: the apprentice was clearly uneasy with the idea of insulting Sparrowpaw.

"Isn't foxheart a throwback?" Sparrowpaw asked, a bit perplexed. "Last time I checked, it was never a nickname..."

She shook her head, pushing the confusion away, and raised a paw to flex her claws as she surveyed the camp clearing. "Anyway. If Cypresspaw doesn't show up, and you decide to keep running that sharp tongue of yours, I guess I'll have no option but to deal with you myself."

Croakingkit hoped into the clearing to join Ribbit,” I want to eat a Lion! If I can out eat a warrior, I’m sure Icestar will make me an apprentice!”

"Pfft! I doubt Icestar would make you an apprentice just for eating!" He giggled, taking a bite of the mouse at their paws.

Croakingkit flicked his tail slightly,” True, I’d be a fat kittypet if I ate a whole Lion, it’s symbolic of Lionstar. The worst leader.”

Eaglekit yawned as she walked out of the nursery, her creamy brown pelt clearly not groomed yet, and her dark green eyes still blinking away sleep. She looked around the clearing, her stomach rumbling. She saw some kits eating a mouse and looked at them, wistfully. She walked over to them, smiling. "Hey guys! I'm Eaglekit! Just wondering if you guys would mind sharing that mouse..." Eaglekit looked at the mouse, her mouth watering.

Sparrowpaw forced her fur flat. She was not going to let this scrawny kit put any actual stress on her. Not only would it be a massive waste of time, but he obviously just wasn't worth it.

And stars above, he sure isn't worth getting my claws dirty! thought Sparrowpaw exasperatedly.

"Look," she replied, her jaw clenching, "shut your muzzle, and you won't have to find out, alright?"

Face it: of course he wouldn't actually shut up. He was far too dumb to know better.

Ribbitkit giggled at his brother's remark. "Yeah! I still can't believe the smelly Riverclanners attacked us." Taking another bite of the mouse, he thought about the recent raid. As he heard another cat approach them, Ribbitkit turned his head. "Why of course you can join us, Eaglekit. That is..." He glanced back at Croakingkit. "If you're okay with it?"

Croakingkit nodded,” Sure. But I fought a warrior, before Owlfeather found me and took me off. I could have injured that Riverclan kit, if the queens weren’t watching closely!” he complained.
