"Fine! Maybe I'm not fine!" growled Pinepaw. She looked down at the ground. "Just...please, let's finish the patrol." she said, her voice cracking. She didn't want to cry. Why was he asking her stuff? Why did he care?

Primrosewhisper nodded lightly, smiling at his response. Maybe someday. She didn't like thinking about it, much less telling people about it, but Greyfur seemed to respect that. She brushed up against him lightly in thanks, tail thumping on the ground. It felt nice to not be poked and prodded for answers like she had before. This just... felt nice.

"My apologies," Fernglow purred as she rose. He rubbed against her in return before smiling lightly, tail slowly waving. He hadn't meant to rush her, and he wasn't quite sure whether he did or not, but she seemed to take it well.

She had been... less distant today, really. Fernglow, clingy as ever, loved the newfound connection, and any nagging thoughts seemed to diminish due to today. A walk, brushing up against him, sharing tongues, it all seemed to click into place. The burly tom smiled lightly as he started to walk, glancing behind himself to wait for Sunnywillow.

What's up with kits and Shadowclan? he asked himself. "Come at me, Littleki- I mean, Littletail..." He didn't learn a single fighting move, and it's not like he could fight a kit, anyway. He'd probably be banned from the clan! Let's see what he'll do if I put down my tail...

Primrosewhisper looked down, ears growing hot, then smiled and nodded in agreement. She really hadn't felt anything like this since she was an apprentice. Perhaps ever, considering her past. Why, with Greyfur she felt safe. She had never felt safe with the past toms or mollies, and now she couldn't get enough of the warm, pleasant safety he provided. Her tail thumped multiple times as she purred, swiping down her fur on her right shoulder. It wasn't quite laying right.
