Introduction

All over the world, a virus began quietly taking over. Nobody noticed it, as it was under the guise of a simple, common disease- a cold. However, those who come down with this illness often experience sharp pains in their heart, a quickly degrading memory, and sometimes, a mutation of the body itself, almost like a cancer spreading throughout your whole body. Thousands began being sent to hospitals, and filled every room.

And then, all at once, the sharp ringing filled the room. The halls. The cities. All at once, in unison, each individual died. Scientists dissected a few different corpses to find that the brain had degraded to a primal, animal-like state. It had shrunk considerably, the portions dictating memory and complex thought almost completely gone. Now, all that was left were the old, ancient primordial instincts to hunt, and kill.

The graves began to be filled, mass graves of these individuals. It was treated like the ancient plague that ravaged Europe hundreds of years ago. Individuals were quarantined, and the world began degrading into utter chaos. It seemed like this may be the sickness that would wipe out the entire human race.

And then, the news reports began pouring in. Mass graves had been torn open from the inside, and strange, unearthly noises were heard from populated areas. The disease began spreading even more quickly, and these new victims had one thing in common; a bite mark from something with a humanoid jaw. The teeth were sharper, sinking deeper into the skin. Almost like rabies, the disease spread from the infected wound to the brain- the only problem being that it could not be cured.

The Zombie Apocalypse has descended upon us.

The roleplay will be taking place in the United States of America, or rather, the remains of it. Specifically, the city in question will be Denver, Colorado. Heavy weather is common, with hot summers, extremely cold winters, etc.

Fresh Types
(Level 1)

-Hunters: These are the most common. Found in large, social groups, they walk at a slow pace. Killing requires decapitation, and large lacerations (cuts) to the chest area. It is recommended that you crush the skull and separate the limbs, but in the heat of battle, you should not attempt.

-Chasers: These are second most common. They retain their humanoid speed, although they fall apart faster than Hunters. They aren't silent, so it should be easy to figure out when a Chaser is hunting you. They stay within Hunter Groups, and are almost impossible to tell the difference between the two. Killing requires decapitation, and large lacerations (cuts) to the chest area. It is recommended to separate the limbs before killing, since they'll be able to grab onto you if you're not careful.

-Stalkers: These are similar to Chasers, but are much smarter when it comes to tracking down prey. They are almost completely silent, and rarely hunt in hordes and Hunter Groups like their cousins. They are similar to Chasers, since they are able to retain their humanoid speed, and fall apart faster than Hunters. Killing requires decapitation, and large lacerations (cuts) to the chest area. It is recommended to separate the limbs before killing, since they'll be able to grab onto you if you're not careful.

Middle Types
(Level 2)

-Gluttons: These are the Level 2 Hunters. They move at a slightly faster speed, and are bloated from the gasses that had built up in their corpse, giving them a chubby look. They tend to drool more, and are a tad bit clumsier than the Hunters. Their teeth and nails are sharper and longer, and at this point you can see their skeleton and rotting corpse in some areas. Their hair is long, stringy, and falling out. Killing requires decapitation, and deep stab wounds in their belly and chest area. Like with Hunters, crushing the skull and separating the limbs is recommended.

-45-ers: These are the Level 2 Chasers. They move much, much faster, reaching the inhumane speed of 45mph, resulting in their nickname being 45-ers. Their skin hangs off their skeleton, and multiple puncture wounds are in their belly and neck to allow the gasses that build up inside the corpse to escape. Like the Gluttons, you can see their bones and rotting muscles in some areas, and their teeth and nails are sharper. Killing requires cutting the limbs off, before decapitation.

-Silents: Silents are the Levek 2 Stalkers. They move faster, and are extremely quiet. At this point, they are completely soloists, killing off any Silents that get in their way. They are incapable of making any noise in their throat or chest, and rarely make sounds while walking/crawling. Killing requires cutting the limbs off, before decapitation.

Dead Types
(Level 3)

-Mutants: These are Level 3 Hunters, and the final stage before they naturally die. Their teeth are like fangs, and nails like claws. They don't look human anymo

re, with their backs hunched over at odd angles and wide, gaping jaws. They can control up to 7 Hunters at a time, and about 2-3 Gluttons depending on their age and strength. Their eyes are rotten and yellow, the irises turned into a pitch black. Their pupils have faded to a grey, resulting in fairly creepy eyes. All of their hair is gone, and their scalp is beginning to fall apart. They stand about 8 feet tall, their bones thinner and taller. Killing requires decapitation, separation of the limbs, crushing the skull, and stabbing it repeatedly in the chest/stomach area.

-Demons: These are Level 3 Chasers, and the final stage before they naturally die. They are extremely demonic, their eyes having turned a complete black with yellow pupils. Their hands are like long claws connected to a wrist, and their shoulder-blades have expanded to look like wings. Their feet are twisted from constant sprinting, and their knees bend backwards. They are pretty much a skeleton, with skin falling off their bones. Killing requires decapitation, separation of the limbs, crushing of the skull, and stabbing it repeatedly in the chest/stomach area.

-Reapers: These are Class 3 Stalkers, and are the hardest to kill. They are now a part of a horde, and command over the entire horde. It is the alpha of the pack, so to speak. It's jaw can unhinge, and crush a human skull between it's teeth with ease. It can release a shrill scream that summons zombies to it, and stand about 10-12 feet tall. It's eyes are no longer there, and it can twist its body into grotesque figures. Killing requires decapitation, separation of the limbs, crushing of the skull, and stabbing it repeatedly in the chest/stomach area.
