Site-wide plots are plots that affect the whole site. You don't have to join them, but your cats are most likely going to be affected by them!
There's usually important roles in site-wide plots that can be filled, and finders for those usually crop up not too long after the plot has been revealed.

A sitewide plot is designed so that every single member can participate if they’d like to. So basically you can take part in the battles or apply for the finders or not, but the sitewide plot is available to offer opportunities for everyone to join in basically.
