Troutpaw followed her other clanmates with her head held low, glancing towards her mentor as he picked up Gingerstar.

She had forced herself to pull herself together, lifting her chin at Cherryswirl's call for Gingerstar's family. Oh. They were going to bury him. They were going to put him in the earth, yet another one of the cats she adored so much being put into the ground, given back to the cruel dirt. Shakily, nodding to Tansypaw to say farewell, Birdpaw looked around for her dear sister or niece before padding over, anxiously twitching her whiskers. What if she wasn't counted as family? What if her claim to her father figure and mentor was invalidated and false? "It.... it wasn't official, but he was like a father to me a-and... he was my mentor for a long time. I'd like to be close by to help, if that's alright?" As far as she knew, Mumblepaw was Ginger's only other family. She wanted to be here for them.

Shatterpaw comes up to Bluefang before he flicks the warrior with his tail. "Come." he says soberly before leading the other cat into the territory. When they reach the burial area, he looks around before he finds a place by a rock - fitting, for Gingerstar was the rock of the Clan.

"Here." He mews before he starts to dig into the dirt, his paws making a neat pile as he carefully but efficiently dig.

He knows that his siblings will miss Gingerstar - even he will miss Gingerstar. They were an amazing leader. But Larkwing will be, too! He keeps telling himself that, but he sees some of the looks that other cats give her, and it fills him with rage.

His paws start to dig slightly faster as he takes his rage out on the dirt instead of on the pelts of those around him - the ones that doubt Larking and Falconfeather. Shatterpaw knows that his siblings will be so much better that the other cats think, he just knows it.

And they are not malicious. They would never poison Gingerstar. Shatterpaw knows this, and he wants to turn around and scream it to the top of his lungs. The large but young tom trembles with his rage as he tries not to dig his claws into somecat's pelt.

He just wishes that Frecklepaw was here...

Silverpaw sat at an edge of the gathering cats, bowing his head with downcast.

It's alright. It's alright. He went to Starclan.
He kept repeating this in his mind, hoping it'll calm him down.

"Who is Starclan?!" he growled, almost shouted, after a moment, frowning and hitting the ground with his tail.
"If you exist why didn't you save him? Huh?"

The fact that nothing worked to cure his sadness upset him. Only kits could cry.

Foxmoon teetered his old legs over to dig his muzzle into the soft fur of his leader for the last time, rasping emotionally. "We'll miss ya, ya've had strong potential since ya kitten day'" he said, his purr softly and soothing as the elder asked. "May I do the helpin' you youngins might need a bit o' help nah?" Foxmoon asked with a raspy chuckle and gummy grin.

Falconfrost sat, watching the patrol leave with narrowed eyes. He was upset that his leader had died, of course he was, but he knew what it meant. Larkwing was without a deputy. And by StarClan, Falconfrost would do anything to be chosen.
