Morningmeadow had her head down and wasn't really talking, until Sootflare called her out of course. "Ah, no sorry... I know it wasn't right for my report to be late, i should have finished the patrol faster and reported right away, instead of sitting on my ass... Uh, it won't happen again Sootflare, I have no excuse for not reporting immediately."

Sparrowflame sighed heavily, but couldn't help but glance over to watch Shadowpelt get chastised. They regretted not reporting, they really did, but watching their patrol partner get reprimanded was strangely gratifying. Still, being called careless hurt, especially from the deputy. They flicked their ears restlessly, awaiting the punishment they were going to receive for failing to report. The calico just wanted a nap...

Cloverwish lightly growled. ` ` I do care. If I didn’t I wouldn’t have come back. ` ` What the heck! They thought that she didn’t care? She did. If she didn’t, she would’ve remained a rogue, and wouldn’t be in Riverclan. ` `I don’t care what consequence you give me, just let me have some time with my apprentice for once. ` ` ` ` And make me hunt until my whole body aches, I will still serve my clan. ` ` She then paused. ` `And if you disapprove of my service, I am sorry. ` `

Lionstar had noticed Sootflare's little congregation of disappointments and padded over to join them, gaze fixated on Cloverwish. "You've had a moon to train her and you haven't done a damn thing, Cloverwish. Poor little Turtlepaw came to me requesting a new mentor because you've been blatantly ignoring her. Skipping a patrol and trying to pin the blame on being overworked? It was one patrol, with only your apprentice to accompany you.

"I'm tempted to send you packing because frankly, none of your behavior screams 'I care'."

"You lost your chance with Turtlepaw." Lionstar snarled. "I'm reassigning her during the next meeting." He was tired of these mentors acting like they had a reason to be angry when confronted! They didn't do anything! "If you want to act like a kitten for being called out on your poor behavior, you're free to get out." He was serious. "You've done nothing since I allowed you to rejoin. Don't cry about working yourself to death when you haven't lifted a damn paw."

"Your behavior has been lazy and careless." Reckless was giving her credit! Something Lionstar didn't think she deserved. "Next time you get sent on a patrol, see it through. And don't use the apprentice you've ignored as an excuse, for Star's sake. That just makes you look more like an asshole."

Lionstar huffed, lashing his tail as he nodded to Sootflare. "Let me know if any other of these idiots decide to give you trouble over this.

"Patrols are a necessity and need to be completed. I don't care if you do it solo and report back solo, get it done. Report to us. You're told this every time we send out patrols. There is no excuse for ignorance." This was toward Cricketchirp with a low growl. He'd have to speak with Doefeather about her apprentice, it seemed.

He was less irked with the cats who'd been let down by their patrol mates and were understanding of the severity of this. Somethings couldn't be helped.

Cricketchirp blinked at Lionstar. "Forgive me if this is considered back talking, but I hadn't been in the clearing when it was announced, I was approached by Doefeather and was told we'd be hunting. But I will be sure to pay attention and report in the future. I am sorry I have caused undue trouble."
He bowed his head in respect and kept his eyes downward and head low, but did not remain in the bowed position. He honestly didn't remember ever hearing about needing to report back.



Flyfur almost balked at Cricketchirp's bravery at addressing Lionstar so openly. "I will do better in the future." Was all she said and fell quiet.

At the Deputy's harsh words, Rainsplash flinched back with his ears pinned completely. He was hurt even worse by Lionstar's words. He decided to stay silent, as that would be better than stuttering what little words he could give.
