I'd go with what Bill says; he's a site admin and since I saw you asked Jackpot earlier (who is on hiatus because he's dealing with some things and has new kittens) I'd probably just submit your character to allegiances with the prefix 'Lightning.' From what I know about Jackpot he is relatively lenient when it comes to prefixes so if you want to ask to change your character's name to 'Bolt' when he returns from his hiatus I am sure he will give you an answer then.
I am not a mod or hr but if you want my take on it a cat would not know what a bolt is--as Bill said they would just consider it lightning--in human terms a bolt is a little bar that fastens something that opens like a window or a door and while it's very feasible a kittypet could have the name 'Bolt' (after a lightning bolt as you suggested), even kittypets very likely wouldn't know about twoleg construction and therefore I very much doubt 'Bolt' would be considered a valid prefix in any Clan. But again it does depend on what the Leader says for the Clan you want to enter and I gathered that was ThunderClan for you.
