Ryebelly slowly came to a halt
near the border, staring off into the ShadowClan territory. He glanced around
and took a few steps back, remaining alert for anything out of the
ordinary. He lifted his head and sniffed the air, then sighed and said,
"I don't smell a fresh ShadowClan scent, so that's good."

snowstripe sniffed as well looking at him "yea ur right." she renews their markers anyway.

The RiverClan tom renewed the
clan's markers as well, and gazed at the marsh surrounding him. His
ears twitched at the sounds of the breeze rustling the leaves and the
small animals nearby. He glanced over at Snowstripe. "I remember
Splashleap mentioning something about the last patrol being
concerned, but I don't know what they were concerned about. Nothing
seems to be wrong here... but we'll still have to keep an eye out."

Snowstripe mews "Perhaps the way the wind blew that day brought the scent closer then normal that or shadowclan is busy this moon." She mews looking at him. But he was right the other patrol seemed concerned but nothing seemed to be going on at the present time.

He nodded. "Yeah, that's a
good explanation." He continued to walk along the border with
his head high, making sure to not cross into ShadowClan's territory.
He sniffed the air once again before shaking his head. "I still
can't detect anything." The tom's eyes scanned over the marsh.
"And I also don't really see anything strange."

steps back. "Yeah, I think that'll be fine. I don't think there's
anything dangerous here."

Snowstripe nods and starts leading the way back to camp not finding anything out of the ordinary here.

Elmshadow had needed to get out of camp. The day was unusually hot and sitting around the camp felt stuffy. Out under the giant, shady pine trees in the movement of a fresh breeze he found some semblance of relief. He kept his ears pricked for signs of prey but he mostly allowed himself to get lost in his thoughts, though they settled in no direction in particular.

He found himself wandering close to the Riverclan border. His dealings with Foxstorm crossed his mind but he rolled his eyes. Who even knew if the crazy she-cat would remember her own dealings?

He breathed deeply, half hoping he would find something suspicious so he could release this energy bordering on negativity and half hoping he wouldn't find anything as it was too hot to want to exert himself that much.

But regardless of what he was hoping, he did smell Riverclan. It was fresh and...it was only one cat. He grinned and flexed his claws into the soft ground. The adrenaline kicked in and he had his full desire to bring home a pelt.

Icefall padded out. The ground grew soggy as she stepped into the marsh. Her beloved Firefly Cove felt tenuous at the moment so as much as her paws wanted to carry her there she turned them in this direction. At this point she didn't care where she wen, she just needed out of the camp. The isolation, even, especially, while living in a camp buzzing with other cats, was becoming more than she could bear. She watched other cats blossom in various relationships.

She felt tears sting the backs of her eyes and she stopped walking, surprised. It'd been so long since she's cried, she wasn't sure she still could anymore.

When she slowly started padding forward again, the smell of Shadowclan bathed her tongue. A patrol must've gone by recently. But she stopped. No, that's just one cat.

She crouched low to the ground and made her way towards the border. A grey tom was standing there. She cocked her head, staring at him. She recognized him as Elmshadow from the gatherings. Some of the other mollies in his clan had quite a bit to say about him. A sudden desperation overtook her. Maybe if he was as much of a tramp as his own clan out him out to be, maybe he could make her feel wanted, just for a moment.

She stood and paced cautiously towards him. "Are you waiting for somebody?" she spoke up shakily, remaining well inside her own border.
