Icefall screeched, tears streamed down her cheeks and anger lit like a fire through her chest. With every bit of energy she could muster she pounced at the tom, spitting. How dare he turn his back? She'd get one good attack in, she'd prove herself, even if for the last time. She'd prove him wrong.

The screech split the air and the ground crunched beneath her paws as she shoved her weight off it. Elmshadow had kept himself ready, his muscles taut and his senses alert. He flipped around to see the white she-cat airborne coming at him, anger lit her bright green eyes. In one swift movement, he finished his spin with a deft paw, claws extended, slicing through the air. Her throat met against his claws and they slid through seamlessly. He sidestepped and the she-cat hit the ground heavily, her limp body tumbled awkwardly.

He walked slowly to her side, pulling her body over with one paw to expose her face to the sky above. Her jaws moved as though gasping for breath but her throat bubbled with scarlet blood.

With his head still high, looking down his nose at the she-cat, he meowed, "Flinging yourself into sure death is not brave. It's cowardly and foolish. Your death was not honorable, it was a waste."

But her jaws had stopped moving and her eyes had gone dull. Elmshadow sniffed. He'd have a pelt to return home with afterall.

Shadestorm stalked towards the border with his
apprentice, Meadowpaw and the warrior Stagnight behind
him. He could have sworn he heard something in his apprentice's
voice when she spoke earlier but didn't have the energy to ask
or even think about it right now, he had a mission to do.
"Make sure to mark the border CAREFULLY" he
mewed, dragging out the last word to place extra importance
on it. "We want to send a message to those fish-breaths
not to cross us nor our border!" His voice had a certain
tone in it that indicated that he wasn't in the best mood, it
wasn't just because his apprentice had been a little late, his
patience with some of his clan-mates... He grunted
something under his breath and marked a little tree.

Stagnight licked his maw, the brown pointed tom followed, eying the apprentice and her mentor. Intrigued by them and their interactions. He could hear the apprentice's tone, though didn't care enough to read too far into it. Shadestorm seemed to really want to rake his claws through a Riverclan cat's pelt, that's the part that interested Stagnight, he wouldn't mind ripping the tails off a couple of Riverclan cats himself. He rolled his shoulders listening to the other tom's orders. He obeyed reluctantly, not enjoying being told what to do. He began marking the border, pausing occasionally to check for any Riverclan filth.

Meadowpaw trailed behind the two toms, disgusted by their bloodthirstiness and over the top trying to be impressive and cool. It was revolting, but she didn't bother showing it. Stalking past them, and marking her part of the border, she wandered away from them, not wanting to spend any time with them, and began to mark the border down the faint scent line.

Her ears pricked, nose wrinkled, she could smell the RiverClan odor wafting from the disgusting wet marshy area. She glared at the two toms, highly unimpressed, and turned away from them. Stagnight thought he was such hot stuff, strutting around, and Shadestorm.... well, she didn't hate him, just found him annoying.

(sorry if this is a lil' long... got a carried away...)

Shadestorm looked at his apprentice from the corner of his
eye as she padded away a bit. He liked that she didn't just stay
behind the warriors and let them do all the work... but she could
show a little more enthusiasm for her first patrol, at the border no
less. He smiled when he remembered HIS first patrol, well, Shadestorm's
first one had been a boring hunting patrol with a grumpy old warrior
and an annoying apprentice. But the second one had been quite exiting,
a fox cub had been on their territory and the warrior that had been leading
the patrol had at least had the sense to let the apprentices fight it without
ruining the moment.

Shadestorm rubbed his chin on a bushy plant and frowned in annoyance
and disgusts as a fishy scent came from it, some fish-breath had marked the
same place. He grunted and padded around the plant a few times to make
sure it smelled as strongly of Shadowclan's wonderful scent, this was theirs,
not Riverclan's! He was a about move on to the next mark when a loud
sound broke though the almost-silence. Shadestorm ears pricked up and
his head snapped towards where it came from and he began to move there
with long, swift leaps.

"Geese" The flock wasn't large but there were may more then he'd like.
"Meadowpaw, Stagnight!" he half called to his patrol behind him.
He wasn't sure if he wanted to start a fight with the big birds, he didn't want
to anyone to die, or not him not his only apprentice, he didn't care mush for
Stagnight, and he did want to sink his claws into something...

Stagnight scowled as he fell in behind Shadestorm, looking between the tom and the geese. He wasn't necessarily afraid, actually he was rather disinterested in the geese. They were merely an annoyance right now. The brown tom clears his throat eyeing Shadestorm "What now?" He asked, quirking a brow

Meadowpaw wasn’t exactly enthusiastic with her work, but this wasn’t her idea of a first patrol. Maybe she sounded whiny, but she wanted Buzzardpaw to be with her. They would have so much fun…. As she began to make her way back to the two toms, an unfamiliar scent hit her, suffocatingly strong, and damp, mildewy, when Shadestorm’s voice called her name. She turned, and saw him and Stagnight both looking less than thrilled, glaring at something. She didn’t know what they were glaring at, so she flattened herself to the ground, creeping forward. Wow.

What in the hell were those things? They were giant, black, cream and brown birds, and she stared at them in interest and bewilderment. Was that what they were looking at? Another glance at the warriors confirmed this, and she stood up, walking slowly towards them, apprehensive with how close the birds were. Maybe they had babies somewhere! She looked at the bird’s paws, looking for smaller versions of them.

But there were none, dammit.

Shadestorm lashed his tail as he glared at the large
birds, he wasn't a big fan of them. Well, he wasn't a
big fan of any animals... dogs were annoying and dump,
foxes were just like dogs but a bit smarter and badgers...
If Shadestorm ever meet a badger he'd happily fight it, even
if he'd almost die from it.

The large tabby glanced at the two other cats on the patrol
he was leading, Stagnight was respectful towards Shadestrom,
he'd give them that but the other warrior didn't seem particularly
interested in the geese. His apprentice, on the other paw, looked
at the birds with amazement and some nervousness perhaps, Shadestorm
didn't care all that mush. "Geese" he mewed in a slightly low voice
to Meadowpaw and nodded towards them. "Their feet aren't much of
a problem but look out for their beaks..." He stopped, pondering if
telling the young cat that she could get badly hurt or even die if she
wasn't careful was wise and dissuaded against it.

(So sorry it took me so long!)

Juniperpaw was excited. Really excited! They were going to beat up Riverclan. Fish! "Oh my gosh, maybe we can bring Dawnstar a bone, like Ravenpaw does!"Wait, that didn't sound right. "Actually let's not, but maybe some fur!" Nothing gross. If her fur got messed up, it wouldn't be worth it. She hadn't ever fought anyone other than her mentor and Maplepaw before, but that didn't matter. Her enthusiasm would make up for the confused slashes- hopefully.

"Frostpaw, are you sure that the fishies are going to show up?" This would be so embarrassing if they didn't. She glanced towards Cottonpaw to see if he shared the same sentiments. Three apprentices versus a potential pack of warriors. What could go wrong?
