As Zerosight cleaned his nest, he tensed, his whole body going rigid at the kitten's words. He instantly went on the defensive. "I'm fine," He spoke, his voice once again cold. However, he was slightly relieved when the kitten quickly noticed their mistake and switched the subject. He went back to the apprentice, running his paws over her pelt to check for the straches. The medicine cat paused when he encountered a few, cursing his own thoughtlessness. He was so used to having Northpath as his eyes, to point out the things he hadn't checked for yet. Grabbing marigold, he began to chew it into a pulp and applied it onto the scratches. "Marigold, to keep infection away..." He muttered to himself under his breath.

Burntwhisker smiled, but worry still glazed her eyes. She sighed as she touched her nose to his shoulder. "I love you," she purred as she backed her head away from him. She worried for him a lot. She didn't want to loose him. Again.

Foxclaw shook his head to clear his mind once more, and looked at Burntwhisker. "I love you too," He meowed, seeing the worry in her eyes, "and it will stay like this for a long, long time."

The she-cat felt her pelt grow warm. "I hope so," she smiled at him. She couldn't wait to have kits. She loved kits. They were her favorite thing in the world besides Foxclaw. She loved him so much, and if she lost him, then she wouldn't know what to do.

Sitting right beside the Nursery, with a twig-thin tail wrapped around tiny paws, sat Mousekit, his hazel eyes fixed on the Medicine Cat's Den. His head, which looked nearly too big for his body, was positioned in such a way that it looked like he might fall on his face if he leaned forward any more, and his fur spiked with curiosity as he picked up on a few lingering scents.

"Nightbreeze?" he called out to his adoptive mother, wondering if she was around. He didn't see her from where he was, but his view of the Camp was obstructed by the wall of the Nursery he was sitting beside.

While waiting for her to respond, or to come into view, Mousekit closed his jaws and shuffled his paws. He often thought about his real mother, who he knew very well wasn't Nightbreeze. He knew that his mother had died giving birth to him, and that he was brought to ThunderClan before his eyes were even open. He also knew that he was, and still is, a sickly kit, born too early and deprived of food or warmth for StarClan knew how long, at least until Nightbreeze found him. He was smaller and weaker than his adopted siblings, and he got tired out very easily.

Shaking his large head to clear his mind, Mousekit settled down into a lying position, with one paw tucked under his chest and the other set gingerly on the dust, making paw-prints as he waited for Nightbreeze to respond, if she was around.

Leafkit woke with a yawn. She stretched her small body in an attempt to look like a warrior. She then let her blue eyes at the time (since they change color in the future) to scan the area. There were still some kits sleeping, but she didn't want to bother them. She sat down and began to groom her beautiful tortitshell pelt that she took so much pride in. The little she-kit then strutted out of the nursery trying to look like a proud warrior. However, she ended up putting a paw before the other causing her to trip.

When the female land on the ground she sniffled. She didn't like to look clumsy in front of others. However, she was just born clumsy. She had a kind and loving heart though. She looked around seeing a few cats stare at her. She gave them a shy, embarrassed smile, but she soon perked her ears at the call of another kit near by. Leafkit turned her head to see a dark, scruffy grey and white kit calling for his mother. Well, adopted mother. She had heard that there was a kit who had been adopted, but she had never laid eyes upon him. She smiled, and waddled over to him. "Hello," she mewed kindly toward. She wiggled her nose sniffing his pelt like warriors did when they greeted each other to memorize the other's scent.

Nightbreeze was somewhat startled by the call. She heard it through the barrier of the nursery walls, even if they were really thick. She exited rather quickly, wondering who it was and why she was needed. She poked her ebony colored head from the nursery and peered around. She couldn't identify the sound of the muffled voice upon looking at the cats in the clearing. The nursery wall blocked her view from reaching her newest kit, and newest addition to her family. She was about to go back inside, thinking that it was Storkpaw or someone tricking her again. She inhaled for a sigh when Mousekit's scent flooded her nostrils. She stopped and padded out, following the scent of the small kit. Upon seeing him she smiled warmly down at him and purred, nuzzling her muzzle against his cheek. "What is it my dear?" she purred softly, lowering her long black body to the ground to gaze eye to eye with her kit. "I heard your call, what is it you need?" she asked softly.

Foxclaw nodded, and felt an awkward silence coming. Not wanting an awkward silence, he tried to think of something to say, and something popped into his mind. "How many kits do you think we might get?" He asked, asking the only question he had at the moment.

When Nightbreeze came into view asking what he needed, Mousekit shoved himself up into a sitting position again so he could speak to her more clearly.

"Nightbreeze, what are all those scents coming from the Medicine Cat's Den?" he asked first. Then, he twitched an ear. "I know they're herbs, but what kind? Does Zerosight know what all of them do? Has he used them all before?"

Even though Mousekit was a very timid little tom, he felt comfortable around his adoptive mother, of course, and he found it the easiest to ask her questions or share his concerns. He twitched his ear yet again, a habit he had picked up, and curled his tail around his tiny paws again. His hazel gaze was fixed on Nightbreeze, but a quiet "hello" jerked Mousekit out of his trance and he turned to see another kit, who looked much healthier and bigger than he was.

"H-hello." he murmured, noticeably more timid than he had been while talking to Nightbreeze. He didn't say anything more; he preferred unfamiliar cats drive the conversation so he didn't accidentally offend them.
