Mudhound
Thunderclan Warrior | They/them | 31 Moons
Bilingual T2 | Flock Together T3 | Rapid Recovery
The normally bouncy warrior was downcast, sad and quiet as they padded into the leaders den. They'd looped by the prey pile and refreshed it but that it was more full was more comfort with the information they had to deliver.
Bumblestars current state and activity was summarily ignored as the tripod walked right up, flopping against her without care if it crushed the leader, letting out a sad sigh. It took a couple of seconds for them to bring up the information, time Mudhound spent rubbing their face along Bumblestars side to comfort themself before they finally piped up. "Heronsnarl is dead. Found her in the ruins sinkhole, I think she fell in. It couldnt have been a quick death and she was all alone..... Can Drizzlecloud say a few words for her next clan meeting?" The words were sadly hopeful but not pushy, an ask and nothing else. "Just so she goes peaceful to starclan and knows we didnt forget her.... I just feel bad, I dont think its possible to get her body back to be buried, looked too treacherous."
Death was almost never positive news, and to hear about Heronsnarl's untimely demise made Bumblestar's ears twitch as Mudhound delivered it. She stood from poking at the piece of ragweed by her nest with an exhale. "You'd have to ask Drizzlecloud. If you want, I can help you get her out. When I found- When the camp first collapsed, Gentledoe 'n I were able to get Jaystride out together."

Wildtwist limped in. Stars, how did that fishface do so much damage? Leaf's ear perked up at mention of poision. "Bumblestar, apologies for interupting, but I don't think you'll have to worry about them anymore. I drove a cat out of cattail pond earlier. Had poison scent all over them." The longhaired hornet turned to reveal the mark the cat had left him. "Gave him a good nick in return. I would like permission for a search party to find him. Want to make sure he can't stir up any more trouble," leaf requested, putting most of his weight away from his scarred side.
Before she could even get anywhere, Wildtwist interrupted. She gave his battered form a brief once over before shaking her head. "I'm coming. Get one more cat and we'll go now if you can handle it. I want a rundown of what he looks like, where he was, and then I want him dead."

Mushroompaw frowned when Bumblestar didn't understand him. He did something that looked like a sigh, but nothing came from his mouth. The small apprentice looked up. Maybe he could mouth something. 'I'm just helping my dad with the re-' He snapped his mouth shut and stepped back. Oh no. Oh no.
Bumblestar wasn't the best at lipreading, but she got a pretty basic idea of what he said, and based on the way he backed up after, it was probably something not good for him.
She reached out to nudge him with a paw, light enough so that he wouldn't fall over. "Reb-what? That the start of a name? A place? Or has some cat decided to start something real stupid?"

While it seemed that someone had gotten the snow out of the nursery and elder's den, the entrance to the leaders den still needed some work. Thankfully there was no snow actually in the den (or well, none that she could see from where she stood right outside of it) as Redhawk approached the hanging curtain of lichen. She wasn't sure if Bumblestar was inside or not, but figured a call inside wouldn't hurt. "J-Just cleaning up some of the snow out here, Bumblestar! D-Don't mind me!"
With a grin and a nod, the reddish-brown warrior began to use her paws to clear away the snow from around the entrance, sweeping it off to one side or another. Her paws started to tingle from the coldness but she ignored it and continued to make sure the walkway from the camp to the leader's den wasn't covered in snow. She even enlisted her tail to scoop some snow and toss it to the side.
Once the ground was mostly cleared, she reached up and used her paws to knock off the snow that had accumulated at the top of the entrance. The last thing Bumblestar needed was getting drenched in snow falling down. While she worked, Red started to hum a bit, stretching her forepaws up to reach every part of snow she could, dusting it off to the sides of the den.
Only when it was all clear did she drop back onto all fours. There. With a smile she studied her work before nodding. "All done!" Smiling the warrior padded off, tail high in the air as the snowflakes continued to fall.
[ hehe and now i can check "clear snow from dens/camp off of my bingo list" ]
The tabby she-cat was ever so grateful for the various nooks and crannies around ThunderClan's camp and territory. Despite her dislike of the obnoxiously thick underbrush, it filled a unique role in providing safe havens from snow and frost for small flowers to thrive. Violetfreckle had found one of these nooks where a patch of snowdrops was thriving, blooming despite the cold. She had thought back to when she had first arrived and had an idea. Perhaps they weren't on... the best of terms. Maybe? She wasn't sure. But Violetfreckle wasn't an idiot; had Bumblestar not showed up, she'd have died that day. That merited something.
A peek into the leader's den found that it was empty. A peek around the clearing found that no one was obviously watching her. Even if someone was, she didn't care. She slipped into the den and dropped off the bundle of snowdrops she held in her jaws next to the lone nest. Violetfreckle lingered a moment too long, taking in Bumblestar's scent. With a sigh, she slipped out of the den and headed back toward her prison, the medicine den.

''Make sure to live your life to the fullest while you still can.''
Larkswoop called a greeting to Bumblestar at the entrance to the ThunderClan Leader's den before slowly slipping inside, unsure if she was welcome here ever since their last encounter.
Tail tip twitching, Larkswoop sat down and wrapped her tail neatly around her paws. She had washed her pelt to make sure she looked presentable.
''Bumblestar?'' The she-cat's meow was quiet. ''I'd like to talk to you about Silverpaw's first assessment.''
Larkswoop's ear twitched. She thought - no, she KNEW that Silverpaw was ready. But did Bumblestar? Or Spiderthroat?
''Silverpaw is a rather quick learner,'' The dusky-brown and white warrior meowed. Her green eyes glittered in the gloominess of the Leader's Den.
''His hunting skills are phenomenal, Bumblestar. He caught a frog earlier at Cattail Pond, showing that he'll do whatever it takes to feed his Clanmates.''
''Silverpaw is rather thoughtful, as well. During battle training, he uses his speed and size to his advantage - although those tricks won't work ALL the time - but they certainly worked with me. He's strong.''
Larkswoop's eyes narrowed thoughtfully. ''I know Silverpaw's ready for his first assessment, Bumblestar,'' She mewed. ''As long as you and Spiderthroat think so, too, then just give me the word and I'll assess him.''

First assessment?? Why was this something that needed her attention? Bumblestar stretched out a leg as Larkswoop entered and spoke. "Okay, great." First Redhawk, now Larkswoop - why were so many warriors intent on reporting progress lately? Not that it wasn't good, they were actually invested in training, but it was just odd. She squinted. "I don't know why you're askin' me. If you wanna do periodic tests, then just do it. You don't need my or Spiderthroat's permission, I'm not Silverpaw's mentor."

Ah. Great. She still hasn't cooled off from their last encounter. If Bumblestar had, then she sure had her ways of not showing it.
Larkswoop took a deep breath, keeping herself calm as she replied to the ThunderClan Leader.
''I wanted to make sure it was alright before I assessed him,'' She meowed. ''Besides, I told him I was going to talk to you and Spiderthroat about it.''
Larkswoop got to her paws. At least Bumblestar had agreed.
Dipping her head respectfully, the warrior headed towards the den entrance, looking back at Bumblestar.
''Silverpaw'll be happy to know you agreed. I know how it feels to have my Leader's agreement. Thank you, Bumblestar, and I'm sorry for disturbing you.''
And with that, Larkswoop exited the den, heading outside to find Silverpaw.

There was a thump as the tripods sibling standing caused them to slide to the floor where they remained slumped and unhappy. Bumble-sis did do her best to comfort them but it just seemed.... Minute when it came to an actual death. Did Heronsnarl even have someone to really mourn her for who she really was? Or were kind words and an offered burial all she amounted to in the end. Was that all anyone amounted to?
Mmmmph too big thought for a Mudhound.
"Ill ask Drizzlecloud before the next meeting. But.... Well It looked really dangerous to get Heronsnarl out. I dunno if its worth it to risk more lives for to re bury her, I dunno if its what she'd want either." It was really precarious looking when Mudhound had found her and she'd even been half buried by falling dirt already. As much as the tripod had wanted to act even in the moment theyd realized that, the maine coon mix doubted that'd change.
But again, big thoughts for a Mudhound, and they left the decision up to Bumblestar, standing to leave. "I dunno, it's your call. Im gonna go talk to Drizzlecloud." The tripod would shake off their sorrow by tomorrow, but for now they'd indulge in grief that was due and demanded to be felt.

Well this all better include Mudhound! They were ready and raring to go! And they found where the poisoner got in in the first place! Though..... Wildtwist didnt kill the poisoner and the tripod really doubted that he stuck around after that. A mean cat would retreat to try again later.... which meant thunderclan was probably still in danger.
Maybe Bumblestar meant to track this cat out of clan boundaries to settle the score though. Regardless, Mudhound was coming with and made that clear as they stepped up to stand beside the leader, claws out.

Leafpaw timidly enters the den, her heart pounding with anxiety. "H-hi, Bumblestar," she stammers, her paws shuffling nervously.
A wave of self-doubt washes over her as she continues, "Um, my mentor, Wolfshadow, hasn't been involved in my training. I haven't even had the chance to explore our territory!" The weight of frustration and confusion colors her voice. Tears begin to well up in her eyes, betraying the emotional turmoil within her.
In a vulnerable moment, she looks up at Bumblestar, her leader, seeking guidance. The den, once a haven, now feels like a stark reminder of her isolation within the clan. Everyday her, denmates excitedly share tales of their training experiences, emphasizing Leafpaw's sense of inadequacy. She can't help but cast a disappointed glance at her own paws, resentful of the unexpected surge of emotions that threaten to reveal her vulnerability.
