The Elder's smug look turned to a more calm look as Smogpaw spoke she wished he would be a little more cheerful it would have been more interesting conversation but she did not mind talking to a cat seriously from to time but she was still going to try, after the apprentice finished she stared at him for a moment she swore she almost saw him as kit for a second there giving her head a small shake she finally spoke "I do well I wish there were more apprentices to help get rid of my ticks!" Spottedfern snorted then turning back to Smogpaw "You're quite the mature one ya know that right?" her voice was filled with amusement but it did not hide the honest in her voice as well a simple thing that she always stuck to being honest it was just her way.

The older molly looked away from the medicine cat apprentice scanning the clearing as she awaited a response, her green orbs landed on a certain apprentice she had seen him from time to time and to be exact based of what she knew he was quite a deceiving cat braking young cats hearts, she scoffed cats like that were the ones she hated the most hurting cats feelings for the fun of it, she reminded herself to go tell him off after this.

Spottedfern looked at her paws then back over at Smogpaw, she wouldn't exactly have called him uptight though he was quite formal it reminded her of Scorchingblossom in a way that was, they were more soft spoken now but still the similarities were undeniable.

Ah, Honey. It was sweet, soothing, a great source of medicine. But that wasn't the case for Honeypaw. He was the exact opposite.

Even as Smogpaw followed Spottedfern's gaze to the tom, his eyes narrowed. Contempt twisted his features at the arrogant apprentice, having never been very friendly minded at the thought of Honeypaw. He snorted softly and flicked an ear, returning back to Spottedfern. "Why thank you. I'll be sure to visit you later to remove ticks and fleas," Smogpaw said warmly, then lowered his voice. "I need to go have a chat with Mr. 'I'm the best in the clan' over there."

His deep, amber eyes narrowed and he stood, trotting over to Honeypaw. "Did you need anything," the speckled tom nearly hissed. His nose twitched, and his gaze could be classified as a glare. Smogpaw would never allow Honeypaw to play with trickery around him, refusing to even let the slightest of emotion show through towards the tom.

Well, besides hate, that is.

A joyful smile grew on her maw as to her delight, her mate walked to her side. Many times before, Aquasnow had wondered how she could always get Aspenstar to come so easily. Perhaps it was the persistence and bossiness in her voice. The pale she-cat was willing to admit to herself that she could be quite bossy. Her bossiness mixed with the fact that she was a more senior warrior meant she usually got what she wanted, although she required very little from her clan mates. Even when she did need something, it wasn’t a very big ask. In this case, it was just a nice conversation. Everyone needed to have a chat with someone every now and again. Aquasnow strongly believed that every cat needed to socialise, but she wouldn’t just anyone if they didn’t. As great as socialising was, cats also needed their alone time and personal space.

As Aspenstar settled down beside her, the warrior nuzzled his cheek, purring softly as their tails entwined. She drew away a few moments after, gazing into his eyes. “Sleeping? Important? Please, you must be pulling my tail,” Aquasnow snorted, her pale blue gaze sparkling with cheekiness. The she-cat had never really seen the importance of sleep. She was well aware that each cat needed it to rest and regain their energy, but she had never seen the need for extra sleep. Being the energy filled warrior she was, she was normally awake at the same time as her clan mates, but she slept much later than most of them. It was a miracle how she managed to not fall asleep during a patrol. But having done this for so long, she had learned to adapt.

Quickly remembering what she had called Aspenstar over for, she glanced at the squirrel before returning her gaze to meet his. “I just wanted you to share this squirrel with me,” Aquasnow replied cheerfully, giggling softly. Despite her age, she was still felt as young as a kit. “You wouldn’t want me to eat all alone and by myself after all,” the warrior continued, using an innocent tone that made her sound like a kit. It was all a part of her humour filled nature. The she-cat loved nothing more than to talk with her clan mates and have a good laugh along the way. “It’s not like I can finish this squirrel. It’s much too big for me,” the she-cat remarked, using the innocent tone she’d spoken with earlier. She was obviously joking as her pale blue orbs glimmered with amusement. Aquasnow knew very well that she could finish this squirrel in a few big bites, but she just needed to make sure that her mate stayed to talk. She couldn’t bear to be alone anymore times today. She’d had her alone time earlier this morning and now she was ready to chat the ears off of someone.

Leaning into his mate as she pulled away, the leader pouted slightly but matched his gaze to Aquasnow's, a gentle rumbling in his chest. She had always been so lovely to the old tom. Ever since he was an apprentice he had crushed on the other and, thankfully, he had been able to develop a friendly loving relationship with her. Honestly, Aspen didn't know what he would do if he had ended up with someone else. Their joking natures made each day enjoyable and honestly, the tom wished he could live forever with her, but one day Starclan would call both of them. As selfish as it was, he hoped that he would die before her, just because he knew she would be able to survive without him as she was very self-sufficient. Searching her soft gaze, a warm expression played on his features as he admired her for a brief moment. For as long as the two had been together, Aspenstar always found himself craving her attention and enjoying their long night discussions, mostly because his mate was more suited to be an owl than a cat, but regardless, he still enjoyed them. Even now, he waited patiently to hear what she had to say. He grinned playfully, batting a large paw at her as she teased him about his sleep.

"Oh please, I would never pull your tail." His ears perked up as he continued quickly,

"If you weren't such an owl, maybe you would appreciate the importance of sleep." Aspenstar puffed out his chest in false confidence as she continued talking, dragging a paw over his ear in thought.

"But what if I eat all your squirrel? What will you do! I don't want to starve you, but if you insist." The leader shrugged his shoulders and leaned over, hooking his claws into the small piece of prey. Dragging it over and into his paws, Aspen sniffed at it before giving Aqua a mischievous look and taking a small bite of the squirrel. That was all it took really for Aspenstar to realize how hungry he actually was. It was slightly cold, but the juicy strip of meat he had ripped off made his mouth water as he struggled to not rip into the poor thing.

"We might need another squirrel."

Honeypaw quirked an eyebrow and smiled at Spottedfern and Smogpaw glaring at him, wondering why they both happened to be focusing their attention on him. He had only just woken up, so was it simply the rude demeanor of Smogpaw and that superiority complex of his, or was it something more? Hmm… I wonder how much they know about me. He watched the grey apprentice make his way over to him, friendliness practically radiating from him. When Smogpaw arrived, however, Honeypaw blinked at him, eyes widening in confusion. “What?” he asked, rising into a sitting position. “No--no, I don't need anything.” Maintaining his innocent look, he glanced down at the ground.

"You know," the apprentice began, sketching something in the dirt with his paw. "It's a little rude to give me a look like that." Honeypaw looked up at Smogpaw with a grin. "I don't believe I've ever spoken to you before. Wouldn't it be better to have a more welcoming look? It would keep others from getting too curious." To any spectator, Honeypaw seemed friendly, observing the other apprentice with a happy expression. But Smogpaw would be able to see his eyes, full of greed and nothing like his smile.

"You might learn a little something from me."

smogpaw snorted, then looked around. he pretended to soften up, but still held a high amount of hate towards honeypaw. hthe grey tom bent lower, staring straight into the other's eyes. "listen here, hare-brain. you can teach me nothing but how to be an arrogant little piece of fox dung. i will never listen to you and your bratty ways." his eyes flashed and he stood back up, looking down at the other apprentice. smogpaw huffed and then smiled, flicking his tail.

"have a pleasant day, honeypaw," he spat before trotting off, his tail waving within the air.
